I was both honored and terrified when asked me to make her wedding cake. I said yes because I love her and also because there’s nothing I love more than whipping myself into an anxious frenzy over a baked good. Kimia and I moved to Boston together in 2020 for grad school, two San Diego transplants who didn’t know anyone else.
One night, I was home watching The Florida Project with a now irrelevant boy when Kimia waltzed in from her first date with John, somehow having located the only 6’5 man in all of Boston. I watched their relationship grow while I personally sacrificed myself to the short king dumpster fire that is Boston dating 🤍 earned his keep in our household, dutifully hanging curtains and fixing stuff in our crumbling 100-year-old apartment.
I’d bake them birthday cakes for fun and Kimia has always been Foxy’s biggest hype woman, so when she asked, I couldn’t say no. Am I cut out for a two-tier wedding cake? Absolutely not. Did I almost have four menty b along the way? We don’t need to talk about it. Anyways, CONGRATS Kimia and John on the most beautiful wedding 🎂🤍
