I visited the Shepherd Farm stand on Briggs next to Lucille’s this week! She has such a nice variety of vegetable starts and beautiful flowers. Gorgeous display! I got the salsa garden basket which came with a tomato, pepper, onion and cilantro plant! I LOVE salsa so was so excited to find this.

We had one extra loaf that I didn’t sell this weekend and I made French toast this morning with it, so yay!!!

I now have made enough money to cover all the start up costs, which is so exciting!

A lot of our friends bought bread this weekend which was so kind and a fun surprise ♥️

When you buy female chicks there is about a 10% they got it wrong and here we are. He’s handsome though!
The rest should start laying next month and we are so excited to have Easter egg hunts every morning and sell some eggs to our friends and neighbors. There is nothing like farm fresh eggs. The yolks are almost orange.
Colorado cottage laws dictate I must wash the eggs that I sell, so they must be kept cool after that which kind of stinks because I think fresh (unwashed) eggs are the best. I don’t even wash mine (unless really dirty) and leave them on the counter and they stay fresh for weeks.
Chickens are so amazing !
