Meet the faces behind Sweet Temptations:
We have so many new faces here lately, so I thought it was time to properly introduce ourselves.
I'm Morgan, and alongside my mom, Kelly, we are the mother-daughter team behind Sweet Temptations. And our newest little team member is my daughter, Blakely. 💕
Baking has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My mom learned to bake from her grandmother when she was just a little girl, and she later passed that love of baking on to me. Some of my favorite childhood memories were spent in the kitchen with her, and neither of us could have imagined that those moments would eventually turn into the business we have today.
Before Sweet Temptations became our full-time job, our lives looked very different. My mom spent 16 years working for the local school before building a successful online Tupperware business. I owned and operated my own daycare while baking on the side whenever I could.
What started as a hobby quickly grew into something much bigger. As orders continued to pour in, we reached a point where we simply couldn't keep up while balancing other careers. So we took a leap of faith and decided to build this dream together full-time.
One thing people often ask is who does what around here.
My mom is the baker. She's the one mixing dough, creating recipes, and making sure every batch turns out just right. If you've ever enjoyed one of our cookies, chances are it started with her.
I'm the decorator. I help with baking, but you'll usually find me decorating sugar cookies, cupcakes, cookie cakes, and adding all the finishing touches. I also run all of the online side of the business, from managing social media to keeping up with messages and orders.
Our personalities are pretty different, too. I'm a perfectionist and can be a little OCD when it comes to details. I like things organized, planned out, and just right. My mom is much more laid back and goes with the flow.
As different as we are, those differences have become one of our biggest strengths. We balance each other out. When I'm overthinking, she's helping me relax. When things get chaotic, I'm creating a plan. Somehow it just works.
In January, our lives changed again when I welcomed my daughter, Blakely, into the world. These days our lives are filled with cookies, cupcakes, baby snuggles, late nights, early mornings, and lots of caffeine.
One of the greatest gifts of this journey is that my mom and I get to raise Blakely together while building this business side by side. Not many people get that opportunity, and I don't take it for granted.
Life hasn't looked exactly how we expected lately. My mom is currently battling Lyme disease, and I'm navigating postpartum life while learning how to balance motherhood and business. There have been challenges, adjustments, and plenty of hard days, but we're not letting them stop us from chasing our dream.
At the end of the day, we're just a mom, a daughter, and now a granddaughter who love baking, love our community, and feel incredibly grateful for every order, comment, share, and bit of support you've given us along the way.
