For years baking has been my passion and making tasty treats for my family and friends was frequent.

Honing my decorating skills with many lessons and classes was exciting and fun, I had found my creative side again. Learning to decorate cakes provided to be a perfect match so in 2012 Stone House Sweets was created as a small custom order baking business out of my home kitchen. I was very fortunate to be able to attend a class at the French Pastry School in Chicago learning Wedding cake design an

d construction under Chef Marina Sausa from Just Cakes in California. Business grew and our new storefront in Englewood was opened in October of 2014. We take pride in providing our customers with not only beautiful, but delicious cakes and treats made with the finest ingredients available. Our menu consists of custom order decorated cakes and Wedding Cakes, we also serve cakes, cupcakes, brownies, cookies, pies and other pastries. We proudly serve Crimson Cup Coffee offering a full coffee bar menu. So whether you are on the go or have time to sit and relax, we have the perfect combination for you.

So Long, Farewell,
This Movie and this song are one of my favorites. It seems very fitting today.

It is with a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful community for all of the love and support you have given us!

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we have closed Stone House Sweets this weekend. We have come to know the faces of many customers, made friends and built relationships over the past 8 years, that we will truly miss.

We are very grateful for all of the wonderful employees we have had thru the years, the relationships we have built and the experiences and memories we have shared. We would like to give a special shout out to our employees that shared our passion, dream and enthusiasm until our closing day.
Our first intern, Colleen started with SHS before we opened the store. We learned so much together and she was a wonderful help in the transition. We learned to “Wing It” together. Colleen went on to culinary school and stayed out of state for way to long. She came back to join the SH team last year. She has an enormous passion and talent for baking, decorating and making everything beautiful!
Now imagine the radio blaring, its dark before the sunrise, all the mixers, utensils and pans are in full orchestra. This is how Marilyn greets her day at SHS. Her consistency since Day One of SHS is clearly shown in her passion for baking. Marilyn is the creator of our popular Cream Puff Thursday. Special Occasions won’t be the same without her delicious pies and all of her other specialty sweets she has perfected.
The familiar smile with a warm greeting is our Victoria. If you are a regular customer she probably knows your name and your order. She knocks it out of the park with her customer service! Victoria’s artistic talents, patience and willingness to learn (and work late) has also made her a wonderful Cake and Cookie decorator. I will miss being her work mom, but I am so happy she has accepted a new career that she is very excited about.
We will miss our work family very much! We wish them the very best in all of their future endeavors.

A special tribute to our friends and family that have shared their knowledge, talents and time to help build and maintain SHS. Thank you for always being there for us. We could NOT have done this without the help from all of you!

Thank you to my loving and supportive family near and far! You have helped me beyond measure with this dream and passion which I am forever grateful. Words cannot express my gratitude. I am so proud of all of what we have accomplished together. Thank you!
