🍞 Let’s talk FRESH bread this morning. ☕️

One of the questions we get asked all the time is: “When was this baked?”

And we LOVE that you ask. When you’re choosing to spend your money with a local producer, you deserve to know when your food was actually made. “Local” doesn’t always automatically mean “made yesterday,” so never be afraid to ask your local producers about their process. ❤️

At Sunday Morning Bakery, freshness is at the very top of our list.

Our prep begins on Wednesdays—mixing, starters, dough development, shaping, fermenting and all the behind-the-scenes work that goes into good bread—but your Saturday market breads are baked Friday into Saturday morning.

And when we say Saturday morning, we mean it. 😂

⏰ 2:00 AM: Alarm goes off.
🔥 Ovens ON.
☕ Coffee ON.
🥖 Bread IN.

We bake throughout Friday, into the night, and keep those ovens going Saturday morning right up until about 8 AM so we can bring you the freshest bread possible at market.

Those early mornings are fueled by a LOT of coffee—and today’s is in one of my absolute favorite mugs from the amazing Phelps Mansion Museum. If you haven’t visited yet, put it on your list! It is absolutely gorgeous, and supporting the incredible places and organizations in our own community matters so much. ❤️

We know customers are paying more attention than ever to where their food comes from, how it’s made, and the quality they’re receiving from local producers. We want you to know that the freshness and quality of what we put on our table for you will always be a priority.

And speaking of getting there FRESH… do NOT forget your Cinnamon Roll Focaccia! 🤤🔥 It sold out in a BLINK last week, so if it’s on your list, you may want to make us one of your first stops!

There’s something about getting out of town for a few days that fills your cup and then makes it feel good to come home and get back to it! 🤎🥐☕️

Of course, whenever we travel, food is part of the adventure. We LOVE getting the chance to visit other small businesses, see what they’re creating, and most importantly taste all the things!

This trip included a few of our favorites and some new stops too!

🥐 A visit to Bella's in Clayton for their amazing-as-always pastries, a chocolate croissant, raspberry croissant, and a cinnamon roll, plus a coffee for the stroll.

🍬 A quick stop The Sweet Bar for some classic, perfectly delicious jellies.

🍷 Then a first-time stop at the flea market at Coyote Moon Winery where we found an AMAZING lobster tail that was absolutely worth the stop.

🌮 And breakfast from Christian and the Coyote Tacos & Tings ..omg.. everything we tried was packed with flavor and seriously delicious. Definitely a treat you don’t want to miss!

As a small business ourselves, we know just how much every purchase, visit, recommendation, share, and “we had to stop here!” means. One of our favorite parts of getting out of town is finding other small businesses, supporting the people behind them, and getting inspired by all the incredible things people are making.

We came home with full bellies, a little extra inspiration, and ready to get back into the bakery. ❤️

Now it’s back to bread, dough, pastries, and all the good things coming next!

☀️ One Last Summer Break ☀️

Just a little schedule update for this week! We will NOT be at the Broome County Regional Farmers Market this Saturday, and there will be just ONE bread drop at Gallagher’s Olive Oil ... TODAY! 🍞 So if you need your Sunday Morning Bakery fix, today’s the day to grab it!

We’re taking one last little family break before heading into what is going to be a very exciting (and slightly emotional 🥹) fall for our family.

Our oldest is heading into her LAST year of college, our youngest is starting his LAST year of high school, and somehow we’re over here wondering where all those years went. ❤️

And while some big chapters are wrapping up, some pretty exciting new ones are just beginning. 👀🍞 We have SO many great things coming this year for Sunday Morning Bakery, and we seriously cannot wait to share more with you!

For now, we’re soaking up a little family time before the craziness begins.

☀️ Happy Fourth of July Week! ☀️

Just a quick heads-up that Sunday Morning Bakery will be taking the week off to enjoy some much-needed time with family, sunshine, and a little rest. 💛

That means you won't find us County Regional Farmers Market, and unfortunately there will be no bread drop at Gallagher Olive Oil this week either. They are open this week so stop in and grab some goodies!

We are so grateful for your incredible support, and we can't wait to come back refreshed and ready to bake all your favorites again!
