🥪 A little Sunday panini trivia:
The word panini comes from the Italian word panino, meaning "small bread roll." While pressed sandwiches have been enjoyed in Italy for generations, the panini craze didn't really heat up in the U.S. until the 1980s and 90s.
So next time you bite into a perfectly grilled panini, remember: you're enjoying a centuries-old Italian idea that's been under pressure for a very long time.
Fortunately, that's where paninis do their best work. 😉
