We’re trying something new this month! 🎉 Kendall Homestead is offering pre-order pickups in three locations to make it easier to get your sourdough goodies!

I’m also offering a larger-than-usual selection for this pickup, so there will be lots of sourdough options to choose from! 🙌

After a VERY busy week in the bakery, Kendall Homestead has officially made it to Minneapolis!

We're all set up at City of Lakes Art Fair 2026, and we brought a whole lot of sourdough, focaccia, scones, cookies and our gluten-free goodies with us.

Yesterday we made nearly 620 pounds of dough.

Today… we bake. A LOT!

The MyForno is running, the racks are filling up, and the bakery smells pretty incredible right now.

There is something pretty satisfying about seeing all those loaves lined up after starting with nothing but flour, water, starter and a whole lot of time.

We're almost ready, Minneapolis! ❤️

THURSDAY = DOUGH DAY. 🥖

Today, the bakery is officially in City of Lakes Art Fair 2026 prep mode… and things are getting a little ridiculous around here.

We’re making NEARLY 620 POUNDS OF DOUGH for this weekend!

Yep. 620 pounds. 😳

That includes:

🥖 200+ sourdough loaves
🥖 48 focaccia
🌾 30 gluten-free sourdough loaves
🌾 20 gluten-free focaccia
🌾 20 gluten-free cinnamon roll focaccia
🍪 Plus all the scones and cookies we’ll be bringing along!

One fridge is already packed with formed dough, and there are still tubs of dough waiting their turn.

It’s a whole lot of flour, water, starter, salt and time going into this weekend—and seeing the bakery this full is pretty wild.

For today, we're mixing, folding, shaping and getting everything tucked into the fridge.

Tomorrow is BAKE DAY. 🔥

This weekend, Kendall Homestead is packing up the bakery and heading to City of Lakes Art Fair 2026! 🎨🥖

We’re so excited to be part of this event, and especially excited because the festival has been giving our little bakery some extra love—and has even been highlighting our gluten-free sourdough line! 🥹

We’ll have a BIG selection of sourdough loaves, focaccia, scones, cookies and lots of gluten-free goodies along with us.

🌾 COME SEE ME AT THE Menomonie Farmers Market! 🌾

❤️ MY LAST MENOMONIE MARKET OF THE SEASON!

The market continues through October 17, but this is my last Saturday there for the year, so come stock up while you can!

I will have the new Sweet Potato Ginger Sourdough loaf and samples available!

A few pairing ideas:

🍎 Spread with apple butter for breakfast
🧁 Toasted with cream cheese frosting — kind of like a lighter cinnamon bun
🧀 Made into a grilled cheese with a mild white Stilton or Wensleydale. And if you can find one with cranberries… even better!

Or honestly, just warm it up and put some butter on it. You really can’t go wrong. 😂

I’d love to see you one more time before the season wraps up. 🥖🍂

Citizens Bank is hosting a customer appreciation event, and Kendall Homestead will have apple c***r donuts, pumpkin muffins, and cookies available!

🎨 OCTOBER 10 & 11 — City of Lakes Art Fair 2026
We’re heading to Minneapolis for an art festival! This is a new one for us, and I’m looking forward to it.

🥖 OCTOBER 22 — Turtle Lake Porch Pickup
We’re trying out a new monthly porch pickup location in Turtle Lake!

🥖 OCTOBER 23 — Menomonie Porch Pickup

Okay… hear me out. 😂

🍠 Roasted sweet potatoes
✨ Crystallized ginger
🌿 Chinese five spice
🥖 Sourdough

Yep. I put them all together and made a Sweet Potato Ginger Five Spice Sourdough!

The roasted sweet potato gives the loaf a subtle sweetness and keeps it soft, while the little bits of crystallized ginger add a sweet, warm zing. The Chinese five spice brings in those cozy fall flavors of cinnamon, clove, and other warm spices.

It’s sweet, warm, lightly spiced, and definitely something a little different. 🍂🍠

Give it a try this weekend!

I’ll also have samples at the Spring Valley Farmers Market on Thursday from 4–7 p.m. and at Half Fast Heroes Music in the Park Saturday 1p.

Come grab one before the market season is over!
