The coolest part about creating food is that you get to be there for someone, no matter what kind of day it is.
Days pass by so quickly. This photo is from weeks ago, but as I scrolled through my camera roll this morning looking for something to post, I didn’t want her to be left behind.
In the hustle and bustle of starting a new business right after moving, life has been a little less “I think I like this little life” and a little more “HOW do we possibly have this much stuff?! I thought we got rid of it all when we moved!” IYKYK 😂😭
I’ve considered stepping back from Rosewood Cottage. I’ve considered getting a dumpster and throwing everything in my house into it so I could feel like I was managing something. I’ve considered a lot of things while desperately feeling like I must be the only person in the world who never has it all together.
But yesterday I started looking around.
The privilege of being invited into other people’s lives has given me a pretty clear window into the fact that I am absolutely not the only one.
We are all hustling and bustling. Taking it one day at a time. Hoping things get a little better and a little easier, and loving our people all along the way.
And it made me feel less alone to realize that each one of you has your own chaotic life, your own dreams, and your own beautiful people you love. 💛
The dishes will need washing. The laundry may sit in baskets waiting to be folded for way too long. The kids will get sick, and then they’ll get better.
But every time you kiss a boo-boo,
look up at the stars and say, “Wow,”
admire the sunset as you drive home,
or take a deep breath and look at your clean kitchen for those blissful two minutes before somebody puts another dish in the sink 😅
those moments are gold.
Those are the love moments.
Those are the “taste and see that the Lord is good” moments when you can feel God’s love permeating your whole existence. They are rich and abundant even in their smallness, and I think they sustain us.
Life isn’t one thing or the other.
And honestly, taking a deep breath and saying, “I will never have it all together. But gosh darn it, I will love this little life,” was what I needed today.
Take a deep breath, loves. We’re all trying to keep up, find something better, and enjoy our day off (even though time moves suspiciously twice as fast on those days 👀)
But all along the way, Rosewood Cottage Bakery is here to celebrate with you on the good days, comfort you on the bad days, fuel you on the busy days, and invite you to revel in the moment on the slow days.💛
