I thrive in being prepared, and present me is always trying to set future me up for success.

With that being said, I have a major surgery coming up and will be on a liquid diet for quite some time and then will graduate to soft foods.

So far this week I’ve made and canned:
7 pints of chicken bone broth
8 pints + 2 quarts of roasted tomato bisque
And two personal meals of chicken and dumplings

I plan to make and can at least two meals per week, soups, broths and soft foods in preparation for recovery after surgery.

Canning has become my favorite hobby, along with baking and cooking.
