Just wanted to make a general post regarding Bread & Bloom since I’ve received quite a few messages asking about closures, hours, and reopening dates lately.
First, I genuinely appreciate all of the support this little stand has received. The excitement, kindness, and encouragement from the community has honestly meant so much to me. I never expected something so small and personal to be embraced the way it has been.
That being said, I think there may be some misunderstanding about what Bread & Bloom actually is.
This is not a full scale bakery or storefront with employees and guaranteed operating hours. Bread & Bloom is a very small home based cottage food stand run entirely by me while also being a stay at home mom to two young children, currently pregnant, and navigating some health issues as well.
The reason I created this stand in the first place was because my life and schedule are unpredictable, and this gave me the flexibility to bake when I am physically and mentally able to while still putting my family first.
Recently I was out of state for family milestones and my daughter’s birthday, and since returning home I’ve unfortunately been dealing with severe dental pain while waiting to be seen. Because of that, I have not had the ability to keep up with the amount of baking and demand the stand received after opening week.
I completely understand people being excited and eager for reopening updates, but I also kindly ask for grace and understanding regarding messages and response times. If I don’t respond right away, it is usually because I’m tending to my children, resting, traveling, or dealing with health related matters.
Going forward, Bread & Bloom will simply open whenever I am able to stock it. Some weeks may be more active than others, and some weeks I may not open at all. I would rather operate honestly and sustainably than push myself beyond what I can realistically handle.
The trinket trade box itself will still remain open 24/7 for anyone who wants to stop by and participate, even during weeks the baked goods stand is closed.
