Have you seen our new sign yet?

We've been dreaming about this one for a while, and Tiffany & Weller brought the vision to life better than we pictured it. Thanks to our boys for helping Christopher get it up on the wall too. It's solid, and it is heavy.

Come see it in person. It's hanging right above the case where you can't miss it.

First week of school calls for a little mid-week pick me up. The case is stocked with back to school cookies and cupcakes this week. Footballs, apples, chalkboards, and Warrior Cookies!

(yes, he's facing the wrong way. The stencil got flipped and we didn’t notice until a whole tray was done!! Stop in to see if we get it right the rest of the week!)

Swing by and grab one for your kiddo. Surviving the first week back deserves a treat for sure. (That goes for parents and teachers, too.)

The Bakery is hiring for Saturday mornings and a fill-in person. Right now that mostly means afternoons (1:30-5:30), but it'll shift around as we go.

In 1968, Joe Pedretti was working at his brother's bakery when he heard the bakery in Elkader was for sale (Hughes Bakery).

So he bought it and moved his family here. 58 years and three generations later, we're still here.

We’re glad Grandpa Joe made that decision!

We're looking for a little extra help around here.

This one's a fill-in spot, the person we call when someone needs a day off or things get busy. (Right now that mostly means afternoons, but it'll shift around as we go. If you like the idea of bakery hours some weeks and none other weeks, this is that kind of job.)

Grilling season is on, so let's talk about the hamburger buns. Same recipe since 1968.

Fennellys' Irish Pub, 2 MIT Burgers, Johnson's Restaurant & Reception Hall, and St. Olaf Tavern - they all get their buns from us. If you're in the area check them out.

And if you'd like some buns for your grill out then, call ahead and we'll have your order ready for you too.

Our friends at Tiffany & Weller just sent us this video of our new sign being carved, and we've watched it about ten times.
