It was a FUN week in the Studio! ❤️
So much creativity happening around here over the past few days. From hand-dipped chocolates to hand-painted characters, trying out new products, and a whole lot of sugar everywhere.
We had:
* A sugar explosion cake in the BEST colors for a special birthday girl.
* A Star Wars cake pop set that I REALLY wanted to keep for myself. 😆
* An elegant cheetah birthday cake finished in gold.
* DYE FREE cookies for a sweet lil family who starts their year of homeschooling next week.
* And STUFFED CAKE POPS! 🥰
(I'll have more on those later because these deserve their own little moment!)
There were lots of new ideas being tested, lots of tiny details, and approximately 847 sprinkles that somehow ended up everywhere. 😂
It's been such a fun week in the Studio, and I can't wait to show you guys more of what I've been working on!

Well, Summer 2026… you were pretty dang good to me.
I got to do SO many beautiful things this summer, and honestly, I’m feeling pretty thankful for all of it.
* I started a garden again after a 7-year hiatus and somehow it actually did really well. I’m still out there harvesting veggies, which feels like a tiny miracle every time I walk outside.
* We traveled to Alaska with friends and it was AMAZING. What a ridiculously beautiful place to explore and hike. Although, that 3,000-foot climb almost took me OUT. 😂 Apparently my legs did not receive the memo that we were having an adventure.
* My sweet grandbaby was born in July, and I just cannot even explain how much I love this little girl. She has completely stolen my heart. 💕
* And then my husband and I spent a week in Canmore for my birthday. My most favorite place. We hiked every single day, soaked up the mountains, ate good food, and basically did exactly what I wanted to do for my birthday. It was pretty perfect.
* I’m so thankful I was able to take little pockets of time off this summer.
I LOVE what I do. Creating cakes and cookies brings me so much joy. But getting the chance to step away and do the other things that fill my cup is such a blessing too.
And I’m reminded again that rest is important. Especially when your creativity is also your job.
Funny enough, those little breaks gave my brain some room to breathe, and apparently it decided to use that space to start plotting. 😂
I came home with pages of ideas, new recipes, Fall projects, Winter plans, and a whole lot of things I’m excited to create for you guys.
So here we go…
A new season is starting, and I’m REALLY excited to see what comes out of this creative little brain of mine.

Back-to-school treats are hitting the table tonight!

Um... anyone else wondering where summer went?! Because school cannot really be starting already. 🤦

But if we're doing this, I'm here to make that first week back a little sweeter.

A new work week starts tomorrow, and after a week of frolicking on mountain trails, I might have a little vacation hangover, you guys. 😂

So I decided to ease back into it with a little cookie dough this afternoon.

The second I turned on the mixer my mind was flooded with so many things. Back-to-school ideas, fall colors, new designs... apparently vacation brain is no match for baker brain.

I've got some pretty great things cooking for you, and I can't wait to start bringing them to life.

A little peacock magic for a very special birthday girl.

She’s known for her love of those beautiful peacock colors, so that’s exactly what I gave her. A personal-size cake, designed specifically with her in mind.

Because cakes don't have to be giant to be memorable. They just have to be planned with love.

And sometimes, the smallest cakes hold the sweetest details.

A little chicken tutorial, because apparently I can't leave a perfectly good cupcake alone. 🐔

I started by adding a little ball of foil to the cupcake before baking to create the shape. Using a medium round piping tip I created the base layer of buttercream. A small tapered offset spatula helped create all those feathery little textures.

And then we accessorized.

A carrot sprinkle for the beak, a heart for the comb, a large black nonpareil for the eye, and another heart sprinkle cut in half for the waddle.

Because everything in the Studio has to serve multiple purposes. 😂
