Icing Smiles, Inc. You know how much I love this organization. The kids are so very brave. The parents have strength in the face of their hardest hours, days, month, and years that would crush the souls of most of us. The family I met yesterday was no exception. I delivered a birthday cake to a 3 year old super sibling. The theme was Paw Patrol. Rather than make fondant figures, I opted to use toys that the kids could all play with. (I learned from my grandchildren that toys are more fun than fondant, lol.) The bottom tier is vanilla cake with strawberry filling, the top is vanilla cake with lemon filling. Most decorations are fondant, but all the red ones are modeling chocolate. I was so happy to bring smiles to this family. They sure brought smiles to me.

This birthday cake is for a couple, both turning 21. They invited Barbie and Ken. Barbie and Ken had tons of fun, but it appears that Barbie can hold her liquor better than Ken! The large tier is chocolate, the small one is vanilla, and they are both filled with chocolate RumChata filling. Quite yummy!

I’ve got a couple cakes I haven’t posted here yet. First up is a birthday cake for a guy who wasn’t turning 40. (Long story 🤪) My instructions were to make it “as gay as possible”. So there is glitter, a unicorn, rainbows, and yes, the actual cake is made of rainbow layers, too.
