It’s time to break the news… I’m calling it quits. For real this time. My number one focus has always been my career in healthcare. I started doing cakes as a way to help pay for my mba and relieve stress (not sure why since cakes are stressful though 🤨). However, a few weeks ago I accepted a big opportunity in the healthcare field designing patient monitoring systems in hospitals. I do not feel it would be appropriate for me to take orders for your big celebrations when my availability and priorities have shifted so big. So for that reason, I am happily stepping away and not accepting any future orders.

Thank you for all your support and letting me be a small part of your big life celebrations! Hasta la vista! Sayanora! Catch ya on the flip side! Next time, call Walmart, this chick is clocked out!!! 😂✌🏻

A good friend of mine sent me an inspiration photo and said “this will be a super simple and quick cake…” My response in my head was “h-e-l-l noooooo 😂”… but since I love the people who were asking for it I was willing to compromise by giving a similar look and piping buttercream dots instead of sequins.

As you can see, that didn’t happen 😅 curiosity killed the cat on this one. I had to make each and every edible sequin you see and punch it out by hand. I decided it wouldn’t give the same vibe with only buttercream and decided to suck it up and try it out. I’ll be honest, it was easier than expected but took forever, and I mean forever. The sequins were made in spare time over two weeks. The design itself took over 10 hours (that doesn’t include pre planning). Different pearl sprinkles were used to provide texture and contrast, but it isn’t easy placing those precisely one by one. In the end, it was worth it. It was stunning. Shreene even took some candid photos of me touching up the cake after transporting it to the venue.

This ranks up there with the fallen soldier cake for me as one of my favorites. Stay tuned for an announcement, hopefully later this week!

I present to you “Dinos in mud” 🦕😍

This heavenly delight features a messy mud scene that drove my ocd wild and crushed Oreos for the dirt clods. Pirouettes were some fallen logs (Dinos probably crushed some trees 🤷🏻‍♀️). Cadbury eggs and whoppers “eggs” (or boulders 🤨) were nestled in the brush with chocolate rocks. This was such a fun cake to make! Happy 6th birthday, Lucas!!!

Howdy! It’s been awhile. So what I have I been up to lately? Life, and lots of it. I have a couple cakes on the books for family and friends. This happened to be one of them! I’m not sure I want to come back to the same volume I was doing before, as that made me burnt out. Also waiting until 9 pm last night to start this cake due to kids makes me slow my roll on starting again 😅. However, I do want to keep this page somewhat updated just in case. So stay tuned for some more cakes I’ll share.

This is my first ever attempt at sugar cookies. I promised Sage when I quit doing cakes we would make some cookies for her. I saw this notepad idea and loved the idea of freezing them and pulling them out to put in her lunchbox when school started. That’s where the love ended.

Sugar cookies are the devil’s trick. They take forever. If you don’t have the consistency just right you will struggle to get a smooth flood. Every time I turned around the toddler was either eating one, painting one, or breaking it just to be a jerk and walk on.

So if you ever wondered if Mycah would make you sugar cookies for an event? The answer is no. Hard pass. September Moon Cupcakery is my girl and I’m a forever customer now. She is worth every penny. We had fun for about a solid 20 minutes making these, then 6 hours of pure hell followed. So enjoy viewing my damn cookies please…

That’s a wrap!!! This concludes the last of the orders on my books before I had to take a step back. Luckily for me they all happened to be for kids of very close friends. Each one of these kiddos are cherished by our family. Trenton is one of the smartest 7 year olds I know and has the most wildest imagination! Bryndal is a little firecracker and is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. Tripp is all boy and I don’t think I’ve ever seen him when he wasn’t playing some type of sport. Happy birthday to Trenton, Bryndal, and Tripp!!! Thank you for making my last cakes so special!

Happy birthday, DeLaney! She had a request of purple and teal colors in a two tier design! The rest was up to me. Since she is a young girl we did sparkles in purple, flowers, and a little butterfly to keep it sweet ❤️

I know I said no more cakes for June… then I got a call from my mother in law. I have some pretty amazing in laws so I had to come through for my father in law, Gary. Gary is known for giving daily patio concerts to any bird, squirrel, grandkid, or neighbor willing to listen. It’s one of my favorite things about him. Just don’t ask for an autograph… there are long lines and some top dollar pricing. 😂 Happy birthday, Grandpa Gary! We love you!!!
