โจ ITโS HERE! โจ Part 1 of 2
Where to go & visit when youโre in MANI, GREECE! ๐ฌ๐ท๐๐ค
Honestlyโฆ I couldnโt even fit HALF of my recommendations into this video ๐ Soooo I think a full blog post is coming!
Did you know the Maniates were the last pagans of Greece? ๐ฅ
And for all my Greek mythology loversโฆ youโre going to LOVE Mani. โก๐ฉ๏ธ
There are SO many incredible places connected to ancient history, mythology, gods, goddesses, and legends.
๐ Hadesโ Underground
๐ Achilleion Palace
๐ Temple of Poseidon
๐ Oracle of the Dead
๐ Tainaron / Cape Tainaron
๐ Kranai
๐ And MANY more!
But here are some of MY top places to visit in Mani: ๐
๐ LIMENI
A gorgeous little seaside village with beautiful waters and coves. There are so many spots to swim, and you might even spot the turtles! ๐ข
I LOVE walking around Limeni, grabbing a coffee or ice cream, and just taking in the beauty.
๐๏ธ GYTHEIO
Of course, you canโt visit Mani without seeing Gytheio!
Itโs one of the largest towns in the area and the first major town youโll come across when entering Mani.
My family has shops here, so Gytheio holds a special place in my heart. โค๏ธ
Walk or bike around the port, watch the boats come in, grab a Freddo Espresso โ๏ธ and some lalagia, and donโt forget to pick up some pasteli, hilopites, and Mani salt! ๐ง
๐ฐ VATHIA
One of my MOST beloved villages in Mani. โค๏ธ
I swear I feel like Iโm Pantelidis in the music video โTis Kardias Mou to Grammenoโ when Iโm standing here! ๐
And yesโฆ the music video was actually filmed in Vathia!
The views from the top are incredible. It feels like youโve stepped straight back in time. Dating back to the 16th century!
๐ GEROLIMENAS
You HAVE to see this seaside village! Beautiful waterfront restaurants, gorgeous views!
AREOPOLI : Walk through the historic streets, admire the stone buildings. Have a coffee or perhaps local eats!
๐ถ CAVES OF DIROS
A MUST!
Iโve been trying to upload my old 2016 photos from the caves for this videoโฆ but my laptop is ancient and decided NOPE. ๐
The Caves of Diros are an incredible part of Maniโs history, with evidence of human presence dating back to the Neolithic period. Don't forget the boat tour!!
