Hi, I’m Nicole, the hands (and heart) behind Veld & Crumb.

By day, I’m a stay-at-home mom to two beautiful little humans—my most important creations. By early morning (and let’s be honest, sometimes late at night too), I’m elbow-deep in flour, nurturing a love affair with sourdough that started as a simple passion and quickly turned into something more.

Originally from South Africa, I carry a piece of the veld with me wherever I go—drawn to simple, honest ingredients and the kind of food that brings people together. Because to me, bread isn’t just bread. It’s slow moments, shared tables, and happy, full bellies.

My husband serves as a Marine, and while he works hard in his own way, this is mine—creating something meaningful from home, one loaf at a time, while raising our little family.

Veld & Crumb is a little slice of that life: rustic, heartfelt, and made to be shared.
