Our childhood was marked by the time we spent with our family, especially our Grandma Dee. The matriarch of our family, Dee knew her way around a kitchen. She taught us not only how to cook, but how to love others well through food. On the way to Grandma Dee’s we would pass an old twisted elm tree. Over time, the Oklahoma winds had pulled the tree apart, leaving just enough space for a coat hanger
to become intertwined with the tree itself. That tree symbolises our family’s approach to life. When rough winds come our way we stay strong, allowing ourselves to grow through the storm by making space for something new and beautiful to enter in. In times of joy and hardship alike, we find comfort in the familiar ways of our grandma–gathering together to share a meal, and using food to show our love and care for one another. Today, we’ve taken that homegrown passion and turned it into Twisted Tree, a European-inspired craft bakery based in downtown Edmond. We’re here to share the artistry of baking, with a commitment to old-world techniques and traditions that yield truly wonderful results. Each and every baked good is crafted with care, intention, and wonder–so everyone can experience the simple joy of homemade breads and pastries.
