January 2023 Update on Bakery.

I apologize for not providing an update sooner. December was a difficult month for our family. We said goodbye to my father and now life will never feel the same. To keep it simple on what happened…the hospital he went to for his mitral value surgery made a mistake and it resulted in the loss of his life. We are filled with so much sadness and it’s going to take some time before we are capable of returning to the bakery. Palma is in charge of making the decision on when she wants to reopen and when I know, I will post the date. Thank you for your understanding.

Wishing you all a blessed 2023.
We will see you soon!

It’s hard to believe that November has arrived! I’m thankful for another week of beautiful weather. I’m thankful for my family. I’m thankful for a house full of love and laughter. I’m thankful for my friends. I’m thankful for my customers. I’m thankful the bakery. I’m thankful for Gabi. I’m thankful for my coworkers and students at school. I’m thankful for my job. I’m thankful for my dad, fighting to be here with us. I can’t wait for him to wake up and to be able to hear him talk.

After discussing Thanksgiving with Gabi, we have decided to move forward with a very selective menu. I will be donating all the bakeries profit from November and December to my mom, so that she can use the money to pay for her living expenses in Cleveland.

We will be accepting orders until Saturday November 19th.

Here’s what’s available:
9in Pumpkin Pie $16.95
9in Apple Crumb Pie $18.95/add Caramel drizzle $19.95
Rustic Apple Pie $12.95
9in Peanut Butter Pie $20.95
Large Pumpkin flavored cookies $27 a dozen
Banana Bread $8.95
Pumpkin Bread $8.95
Mini Cannoli Kit $27 a dozen

The best way to order since our hours are not consistent at this moment is by Facebook messenger or email. All order pick ups will be Wednesday November 23rd from 11-4pm.

11/1/22 UPDATE:
Thank you so much for all the thoughts and prayers! We are so incredibly blessed to have you all in our lives. I wanted to let everyone know that Palma is alright, but my dad is in the Cleveland ICU and has been there since 10/14. He went in for a routine surgery and complications arose. He is not awake yet, so we are hoping and praying his body will heal and he will wake up. Palma is staying in Cleveland. She is with him every day and I go as much as I can to see them both. We do not have a timeline on how long he will be in the hospital nor do we know what recovery will look like yet. We will provide an update when we know more. Thank you again, we appreciate you all!

We wanted to provide an update on the bakery. As some of you may of seen, we haven’t really had any set hours for walk in business and have had to decline special orders. Palma will be away from the bakery for awhile and we are not sure when she will return. I don’t want to go into too many details right now but our family could use a lot of thoughts and prayers. Besides Palma being gone, I have a full time teaching job, which limits my time at the bakery. We do have an amazing employee that has stepped up and helped us get all our special orders out the door.

With that being said, at this current moment, we will not be able to take any special orders. We haven’t made a final decision on the holidays but we may not be able to take any orders. I’m sorting that out with my employee now to see what’s possible.

We apologize for the inconvenience. As most things go in life, what we are dealing with was very unexpected and we really don’t know what the future holds at this current moment. We have a lot of unanswered questions and I think that’s the scariest for us at all his time.

We love you all! Thank you for being amazing customers. We will keep you updated on holiday ordering and what’s to come next.

Alyssa and Palma

Since April of 2021 we have been operating 3 days a week for walk-in business (Thursday-Saturday). Palma and I also work Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday to accommodate special orders and prepare for the days we are open. We work very hard! We want our customers to be happy and do our best to accommodate as many orders as we can handle. However, we do deserve time off. Just like anyone else with a job, we take vacations and try to enjoy time with our families.

We just want everyone to know that we are trying our best, we are only two people. We are trying to find help…but we need employees that know how to bake and cake decorate. If you know someone that has experience, send them our way.

We will reopen for walk-in business on 9/15 through 10/8.

We will have to close 10/9-10/26 for medical reasons with a close family member. We apologize for the inconvenience but family and our health is #1.

Then we will be open 10/27-Christmas Eve with the exception of time off for holidays.

If we are able to find more help, then we will be able to stay open.

Thank you again for your understanding! We appreciate you all!

Enjoy the rest of your summer!!

Our Story

Palma was raised in a Italian family that loved to bake from scratch. As Palma was growing up, she learned as much as she could about cooking and baking from her family. On May 22, 1982 Palma married Bill Leone and four years later they decided to start a family. Palma wanted to be able to bake and decorate birthday cakes for her own children, so she started teaching herself how to cake decorate. After her children went to bed and the house was finally at peace. Palma found relaxation in baking for her family and friends. Before Palma knew it she was being asked by friends and friends of friends to bake sweet treats for their special occasions. After 32 years of baking and cake decorating, Palma's oldest daughter Alyssa Palma Leone Flood thought it was finally time to help her mom open up her very own sweet treat shop!

Essential to the appeal of our products will be the application of "The Touch" technique in the baking process, a tradition handed down through four generations. "The Touch" technique provides an intuitive stop in the mixing process to assure the dough's consistency is just right for the oven. The sweet treat menu will be constructed around Palma's secret recipes!

Our mission is to provide Edinboro and the surrounding area with our fresh homemade sweet treats that can't be purchased from any of our nearby competitors. We want to cultivate a pleasant and friendly atmosphere for our customers. Customers will be able to come in and buy their favorite sweet treats from our bakery cases or visit and place a customized order for a future date!
