52 opened in 2000 do to a really crappy 1999. Both of our fathers died and I was fired 2 weeks before Christmas. Being fired was a gift I found out later. We started as Applewood Bakery and Catering Company, than to Applewwod Bakery

Found God (he really wasn't missing) changed to 5 Loaves & 2 Fish Bakery and now 52 Bakery.
52 has an amazing story.
52 started as a shorter name but is so much more. Isaiah 52, Stand up shake the dust from your clothes and be what God created you to be. God made me to be a creator-flour, water, yeast and salt are my canvas
52 represents the year that I am embracing my gifts and letting go of the past and all the fears that hold us down. 51 years of living in fear is long enough
52 weeks of work and 2 weeks of rest

Good Morning Peeps! Baking away this morning, couple of updates, Country Sourdough ended up in the Garbage can- dont ask:) Made a big batch of Potato Bread that's in the oven to offset. Have a nice Multigrain w Kamut and Einkorn, made a new Oatmeal Cookie variation w sunflower, pumpkin seeds, dates and coconut. New foccacia made with Tomatillos and Chipotle. Pop down and say hi

Lisa and I are heading to Lodi and Madison to pick up all my Specialty Grain from Heartland Craft Grains and check out Bavarian Sausage Haus in Fitchburg. Fun trip planned and a beautiful Day. Next week will be our last week at Lazy Monk until the fall. Enjoy the day

Good Morning Peeps! Just wanted to give a shout out to Dan at Farm Doc Chiropractic, for getting me ready for the summer market, He has a 21 day cleanse program that absolutely turned my health around. I just completed it and feel the best I have in a long time, while you have to give up some things to reset your body initially, it is worth it, some of the things you give up is me (wheat) for the 21 days but its worth it to me if you want to improve your health and wellbeing, its all natural, you get to eat alot of great natural foods. It broke my craving cycle and got rid of inflamation, now I can enjoy in moderation. For me it was Beer, sugar and poor quality protein, I am going to be adding in more natural organic ingredients in my breads with ancient grains from Heartland Craft Grains, found a supplier for organic Kamut and Buckwheat. While Foccacia, Pretzels and Scones won't change (unless i can make them better?) Stats for this adventure, down 25 lb, blood pressure dropped by 20 points on both ends and my sugars dropped below 100 which is insane for me, My energy level is off the charts, no brain fog also found a fantastic NA beer from 3rd & Vine that is my go to. (Jarrods vegan specials and salads are killer) For all you healthy folks, pack the line- need to pay off my cart and trailer:)
What was my 1st thing to have today? Coffee, pickled egg and and fermented Nettles-turned into a forrager in 3 weeks, that's cool and its free.
