Good morning, friends!
🥤 Nash could tell that we're big fans of summer and of creamsicles, so the Creamsicle Fanta drink is on special again today!
🥣 Additionally, Heather added a third soup to today's lunch menu: French Onion Soup. This classic soup, made with caramelized onions and beef broth, topped with a toasted crouton and melted cheese, then broiled until bubbly, pairs perfectly with either sandwich on the lunch menu.

Have you seen our pastry special today? These Danishes are just that perfect level of flaky and sweet, and they're waiting for you at Nordic Cottage today! You can choose from Maple Pecan, Apple, Vanilla, Raspberry, or Cinnamon Whirl, each for $3. I suggested that they would be perfect with a Saturday Lefsa wrap breakfast... Ordering them with your soup-and-sandwich lunch makes a lot of sense as well!

Friends, Nash is reading the room... We are ready for summer, and this drink special is definitely bringing summer! Did you get a chance to get a sandwich and soup from Nordic Cottage today? Lunch at the bakery is new, but let me tell you that it's well worth the stop! Heather made more Viking Stew and Vegetable Soup to go with the regular Grilled Cheese and BLT sandwiches, so you have another chance to taste this yumminess on Wednesday!

Heather and her team have been pleasing our taste buds for two months now with yummy pastries and breakfast sandwiches. I don't know about you, but I've made stopping by the shop a couple of times a week into a regular part of my schedule. But, friends, I think I'm going to have to add a few visits because now Nordic Cottage has lunch! Served Tuesday through Saturday, 11am - 3pm, Heather will be offering sandwiches and soups from her kitchen.

Is dessert after breakfast a thing? Maybe it should be... This late breaking special, a selection of beautiful Danishes, would be a perfect dessert after a Lefsa wrap, right? Or just on its own...? Or as second breakfast...? Priced at $3, you can't go wrong!

Tomorrow is Saturday, so you know what that means! 🥯 You can order those new bagels, pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and yummy drinks at Nordic Cottage, but it's Lefse Breakfast Casserole Wrap day! 🥚 Priced at $11, this breakfast is remarkable: 🫔 Lefse -- a traditional soft, thin Norwegian flatbread made from potatoes, flour, butter, and cream -- wrapped around Swedish sausage, bacon, diced potatoes, eggs, and your choice of cheese. 🥓 There may be a better start to your weekend than this, but I doubt it! 🧋

This morning dawns with the tasty menu and specials coming out of the Nordic Cottage kitchen that we've come to expect! Yummy, sweet scones in three flavors -- plain, plain topped with sprinkle sugar, and lavender -- perfect to pair with coffee or tea, or just on their own for $3. Not technically a special, rather an update to the daily menu, but special all the same, you have new bagel flavors to choose from -- apple cinnamon raisin and poppy -- and mini bagels in plain, cinnamon raisin, and everything!

The weather is breaking and tomorrow promises to be sunny! I don't know about you, but I plan to bring some of that comfort I reveled in during the gray weather into the rest of the sunny week. I may not wrap up in a blanket, but that soul-deep comfort feels good, you know? That feeling is what fika is about -- about finding comfort and pleasure in the simple things, the habit of making space to enjoy simplicity.
Tomorrow morning, Nordic Cottage’s special is this beautiful coffee cake, priced at $3 per piece. Add a coffee drink and take a break with a friend or a book and practice that feeling of comfort with me, that moment of fika on a plate.
