Some Big News - The Scratch Cake, Retiring
Dear Friends,
I have some big news that I wanted to share with you all.
On November 6th I will bake my last wedding cake as "The Scratch Cake." After 15 years helping people celebrate their special moments through confections, I have made the difficult decision to retire the business. I have been baking on Cape Cod in some capacity for the last 30 years, and some of you know me from even before The Scratch Cake existed! I am incredibly grateful for the many generous customers and dear friends I have met through the years. Thank you.
I will miss getting to be part of your precious milestones: planning the 'big day' with brides and grooms; celebrating anniversaries that follow; welcoming that first child into the world; and watching children's faces light up at the birthday parties that follow, when they see their favorite cake design unveiled. It has been a privilege to be part of your journey!
In addition to my own recovery from brain surgery this year (I'm doing very well, with almost no persisting side effects), I am taking on the new role of caring for my aging mom. It is stretching me, but I am glad I can give back to her after all the years she sacrificed for me.
It was a pleasure meeting and baking for each of you. To all of my brides and grooms: may God bless you with many beautiful years of marriage together! And may you have lots of great cake along the way
