It is with much prayer, deep thought and tears, that we have decided to close up shop...indefinitely, but NOT FOREVER. My health is much better, and my shoulder is doing well, but there's still a lot going on in our lives right now. We have had to take on the responsibility of two loved ones who need us, and I just can't envision how I can possibly juggle it all right now.

If you are holding an unspent gift certificate from Dad's Place, please call or message me so I can make that right with you.

Our vision is to get life back on an even keel and then we would like to open as bakery only. I cannot say when that will be.

We appreciate everyone who has stood by us through everything that has been happening. I'm looking forward to serving you again.

Wednesday is the big day!!!!!!!! Keep me in your prayers. They are not sure if they can successfully do the manipulation. I’m believing they will.

Well…I thought I would be posting my big announcement today with an opening date for the cafe. Just came from the Ortho and I guess I have to have the surgery, but I'm choosing to see this as a minor setback for a major comeback. I thought I was doing pretty well, and I am - I'm just getting a boost to get back on track. They are promising to schedule me soon, and I'm staying positive. I'm feeling a bit more determined.

Update****I am going to go with this! So excited. Stay tuned for a start date…thinking a couple weeks. The cafe has been sitting a while so we really need to do a deep cleaning and organization. ****************************

I’m doing a trial run today, making bread for my church’s harvest dinner. If I survive…if my shoulder survives…I may start doing a once a week bread day. If I did, who would be interested? I’m thinking I would do loaves, buns, and cinnamon rolls in 4-packs…white bread, molasses and honey wheat? Thinking this might be a spring board to more as my health improves. Would like to hear what everyone thinks???? Also, what day of the week do you all think would be best? I’m thinking Friday or Saturday.

Everyone must be wondering and I’m trying to give you all the shortest version of what I found out. I will not be having surgery to remove the cyst on my spine at this time. It is not causing my health problems. My problem is inflammation of my joints, my body’s response to my high blood sugars. I’m am headed for a long journey of exercises to free up my frozen shoulder and an anti-inflammatory diet and way of life. Dr. Totta says I should notice an improvement in as little as a month but might be a bit longer than that before I’m ready to work at the capacity I was before. I’ll keep you posted and I can’t wait.

Thanks for the prayers and please keep them coming. My success at dieting tends to not be so good, but I gotta do this!!!! And I can!!!

Hi everybody. I didn’t want to post until I knew more but everyone is asking me, so I’ll post what I know so far. My business has been closed all winter because I’ve had debilitating pain in my right leg that has been progressing to lower back pain and now I’m dealing with intense arm pain. After going to several doctors, the orthopedist finally got me approved for an MRI which showed a cyst on my spine. My case was flagged urgent and referred to a spine surgeon who bounced my referral to a spine surgeon who also specializes in neurology. That was last Thursday and I’ve been waiting for a phone call ever since.

That being said, I have not given up on my business. As soon as I can get back on my feet, I’m going to be opening again. I miss all my customers and I miss cooking!!!!! I would appreciate prayers through this process. ❤

I’m going to be closed a while. I’m really sorry. I had full intentions of being open tomorrow but I just can’t. I may stay shut down for a little while but it’s not forever. I am determined to get better and get back to my business.

While I was extremely glad to be back, I had a really bad day today. I’m going to take Friday off and I’ll see you all Saturday. Thanks for understanding.

Menu is the same as the one that didn't happen last week. Can't wait to see everyone tomorrow. I may not have the breakfast special...depends on how things go. I'm running out of time and I gotta get home and get some rest so I'm bright-eyed&bushy-tailed for tomorrow. :)
