Durand Union Station belongs to the residents of our community and has been a source of pride for decades. We have a responsibility to ensure this rich model railroad history stays accessible to everyone, today and for generations to come. We know many of you have questions about the ongoing legal matter involving the Station, and we want to keep you informed with clear, direct facts.
We are excited about the opportunity to offer a free, public exhibit inside the Station featuring the John C. Loeding Collection — nearly 1,700 railroad artifacts, brought to Durand by the all-volunteer Durand Union Station Model Railroad Engineers (DUSMRE), at no cost to visitors. The Station remains open, and the Michigan Railroad History Museum continues to welcome visitors during normal operating hours.

Just as a heads up to our residents. This coming Thursday July 23, the railroad crossing on Oak St nearest City Hall will be under construction and Oak st will be shut down. The railroad contractor tentatively plans to reopen the road Monday August 3. Detour signs will be placed throughout town to help residents avoid the closure. Thank you for your patience.
