Proudly beginning our 5th year offering our delicious baked from scratch Christmas fruitcakes and our amazing cheese biscuits by Cindy Nickles of Due West!

Our fruitcake recipe is over 100 years old & contains red & green cherries, pineapple (no citron) and pecans with a premium placed on the flavor of the batter.

Our cheese biscuits are made with extra sharp cheddar cheese, cooked crisp with a hint of heat. Just like grandma used to make! They are sold by the dozen with & without roasted pecans. We assure you,

****PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS****

***OLD FASHION FRUITCAKES***

Our fruitcake recipe is over 100 years old. Over 50 years ago a 90 year old lady shared this recipe with my mother. In turn, my mother taught me how to make it and shared the secrets to why it’s so good. After years of trying to perfect it I knew I had it figured out when one Christmas my mother tasted my fruitcake and said “Cindy, this cake is better than mine!”.

This is not your normal traditional fruitcake. Meaning it’s not loaded with all different sorts of nuts and fruit. It is a simple fruitcake with your most popular fruit and chopped pecans with a premium emphasis on the flavor of the batter.

Our fruitcakes come in 3 different sizes.

> SMALL LOAF - about 1.25 lbs give or take an ounce or two.
Price - $20

> LARGE LOAF - twice the size of the small loaf at about 2.5 pounds give or take an ounce or two.
Price - $35

> RING CAKE - About 4.5-5 lbs. give or take an ounce or two.
Price - $60

***How should I keep my cake?***

After you purchase your cake we recommend that you keep it wrapped in clear wrap and keep it refrigerated in an air tight container if you’re going to eat it within a couple weeks as there are no preservatives in the cake.

For a period longer than 2 weeks we recommend that you wrap the cake in clear wrap, followed by wrapping it in tin foil then placing it in a freezer bag.

To thaw, allow cake to thaw at room temperature until completely thawed.

**OUR FREEZING EXPERIMENT**
Several years ago I baked 4 small cakes after Christmas & froze them as described above. I thawed them one at a time at room temperature after 3 months, then 6 months, then 9 months then 1 year later.
After taking them out to thaw that morning I tried them later that afternoon and they tasted like they had come out of the oven that morning.

After Christmas, I will make a small loaf for myself and cut it into slices and freeze the individual slices to thaw out and eat with a cup of coffee during the year. Believe me, this cake is “Coffee’s best friend!”

Our fruitcakes have become so popular that we have request for them throughout the year. So we have started selling small loaves at spring and fall festivals. This prompted us to come up with the slogan “ Our fruitcakes aren’t just for Christmas anymore! We then had a customer of ours suggest that we add “ It’s a year round delight” to the slogan!

OLD FASHION CHEESE BISCUITS

This recipe is my grandmother’s recipe. We use extra sharp cheddar cheese and bake them crisp with just a hint of heat. They are available by the dozen with or without roasted pecan halves. And yes, they are probably like your grandma used to make!
