As the one-year anniversary of my life-saving surgery approaches, I find myself reflecting and revisiting entries from my journals.

I’ve been journaling since I first learned how to write. ✍️

Below is a transcript of one of those entries. I’m also sharing a photo of the original handwritten page because I plan to share more, as I reflect on this past year. Together, they offer a raw, unfiltered record of what I was experiencing, both physically and emotionally, as my life was about to change in ways I could never have imagined.

March 20th, 2025

Where is the divine guidance? Is there a reason I am sinking into what feels a dark hole? Am I to remain dormant for some divine reason? Rest and wait?

Why does it feel so dark and hopeless? World feels heavy today. Sun is shining as if all is well but a heaviness is present, like everything is in slow motion.

March 30th, 2025

The darkness turned black. I was finally admitted to the ER after waiting for 4h. My doctor sent me in for an ultrasound of my legs after my visit with her two days prior. My legs have been swelling up since my trip to Poland and my blood pressure has been high.

At ER CT scan was performed. I was sitting in the room thinking it was kind of nice to be idle and getting some guilt free rest. ER doc came in and chatted with me, then pretty casually assured me that all the symptoms and lab are precautionary and he expects me to be out of there soon.

The CT scan wasn’t pleasant and I was over the whole ordeal already planning the rest of my day.

Then everything changed. ER doctor walked in along with two nurses, pulled up the chair and without further ado hit me with “brace yourself I have some bad news and it will be in three parts. EP in both lungs (spots on lungs) and a large mass in abdomen.”

I went tunnel vision.

✨ A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful Jen Roling for blessing my home with the beautiful sounds of her singing bowls, and, more importantly, for her special gift of knowing just how to let their magic work on me. 💛

Jennifer recently came to my home twice for sound healing and Reiki sessions, and both experiences were truly special. There is something extraordinary about the care, intuition, and gentle energy she brings to her practice.

Jen has a beautiful gift, and I feel so grateful to have experienced it. If you’re in need of a little rejuvenation, relaxation, or simply a moment to reconnect with yourself, I wholeheartedly recommend considering a session with her.

2026 has been our year of recovery ❤️‍🩹 and things are looking up. I am preparing to return to the market and the soil next year. Make it a fresh start. 🌱💃📣
