I actually cooked for my family tonight! Some days just need something warm and filling with a touch of nostalgia. Sausage bread for the win. I used a cold proofed Italian bread dough and it is superior! It held up to the heavy sausage and cheese with an even bake.

It may be back to school for me, but I'm still in the kitchen! A lovely customer request for a specialty dessert. Lemon tarts with toasted meringue and white chocolate "honeycomb" garnish to be shared at a honey bee themed gathering. If you want something different, just send a message.

My momma mentioned doughnuts a few days ago and I haven't stopped thinking about them. These are heavier than Shipley, but I'm not mad about it. There's not much better than a fresh warm doughnut.

Chocolate Marquise! My son requested this for his birthday. I learned something yesterday for sure! Basically you make a chocolate curd in the same method as you would any citrus but using chocolate instead of juice. That creates a thick and fudgy goodness that will tear up your immersion blender(ask me how I know). Then you whip cream to stiff peaks and fold into the fudgy goodness like you would a mousse. Plop it into a loaf pan lined with plastic wrap and let it set in the fridge overnight. Pull it out of the pan, cut and try your best to eat one slice. I couldn't do it, oh but I tried. In the famous line from SpongeBob it is , "Sweet, Sweet, Chocolate!" The texture is pure silk.
