I'm not ready for pumpkin everything season. The apple gets left out this time of year in my opinion. When we lived in PA we had 8 or so apple trees and the local festival was "Applefest" in October every year.
One year we had so many apples from our trees and I'd never had that experience before. Neighbors that had just met us after moving in called to see if they could come get apples like they had done in the years before with the previous owners. Of course! With that came an invitation to pressing apples, also an experience I had never seen in person. We walked away with fresh c***r and memories to last a lifetime.
You're never too old to try something for the first time. My first strudel! The dough was super fun to play with and stretch it tissue paper thin. It think this needed a bit more apple, but overall I'm pretty happy on my first try. The outside is super crispy. The inside is light and the apples still have a nice texture.

There's one baked good that I will always make by hand. Banana Bread! This is the best I've ever made or eaten anywhere. Hands down would serve it to Paul Hollywood or Alton Brown with no hesitations.

Family Dinner was nice! Let me talk about this made up dessert. I took all the best parts of a few desserts and put them together. From the bottom to the top:
1. The pretzel base from strawberry jello salad.
2. The cream cheese layer from 4-Layer Delight. I swapped regular sugar for brown sugar.
3. A thin layer of fresh salted caramel.
4. Vanilla pudding with banana slices folded into the mixture.
5. Topped with remaining cool whip and the last drizzles of caramel.
