This isn’t a cookie, but it is a very special pie. It was a labor of love to bake this Pecan-Rye Pumpkin Pie. The crust is made from scratch with rye flour. Flaky, soft, and full of flavor. The filling is made with pumpkin purée, rye whiskey, and 6 different spices. The pecan topping is tossed in a maple syrup-brown sugar mixture. This pie is all about the details in every layer. With the cold front coming in tomorrow, this is the perfect pie to welcome the fall season.

Here to tell you that these Pecan Pumpkin Spice Chocolate Chip Cookies are the best thing about the fall season thus far. 🍪 These cookies are made with two types of chocolate chips, a homemade recipe of my own pumpkin spice, and Texas pecans. Even if it’s back in the 90s outside, it’s fall in your mouth.

Yesterday, it was a fellow Psych fan’s birthday, so I baked pineapple sugar cookies with an orange glaze and embroidered this hoop with a classic Gus quote.

Baked with love and pairs perfectly with coffee. This Apple Sheet Cake is another cake I’ve been baking a lot lately in addition to cookies for the beginning of the holiday season. Each piece of cake has a big slice of apple. The apples are baked into the cake and add a really nice flavor and moistness. Delicious!

I’ve been getting more orders for cakes lately and I am here for it! With the holidays coming up everyone’s wanting a dessert for the Thanksgiving table. Maybe you’re thinking that a pie is the most appropriate dessert for the table. I’m here to tell you that this Sweet Potato Cake with Salted Cream Cheese Frosting will change your mind! This cake tastes like fall if fall could be a dessert. Sweet, a little cinammon spice, indulgent, and oh-so-moist from the sweet potato purée. And that salted cream cheese frosting just takes the cake (pun intended!).

This weekend I ventured outside my cookie box and made a Black Forest Cake. This cake was a fun adventure! It’s four layers of my great grandmother’s German Sweet Chocolate Cake with a dark chocolate soak, cherry preserves, and a chocolate ganache in between each layer. Then I frosted it with a Chocolate Meringue Buttercream Frosting. The cake was for a birthday and a HUGE hit! It’s disappeared just like that!

We went all out for a 91st birthday celebration and had prickly pears galore! Prickly Pear Lemon Chess Pie, Prickly pear syrup over vanilla ice cream, and Prickly Pear Pecan Shortbread Orange Glaze Cookies. We made our own prickly pear syrup and jelly with prickly pears from our ranch in Lampasas. Not pictured are the Prickly Pear Margaritas we enjoyed last night. Everything was amazing! That prickly pear adds a lot.

Experimenting with a pecan shortbread thumbprint cookie with prickly pear syrup in the middle. The prickly pear syrup was sourced from our family ranch up in Lampasas. As if it couldn’t get more tasty, then we add an orange glaze on top! I’ll let you know how they turn out. 🦩🍪
