🌮 Get A Taste Of Rockford This Summer!

There is a special kind of energy that shows up in Rockford once the weather warms up. People stay outside a little longer. Friends start making plans. Families look for ways to spend time together. Before you know it, summer weekends are filled with food trucks, farmers' markets, live music, fresh flowers, and those simple moments that end up becoming some of the best memories of the year.

🛍️ Markets And Food Events To Check Out

• Food Truck Tuesdays
A summer favorite at Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens , bringing local food trucks, riverfront views, and an easy outdoor dinner plan all together.

• Rockford City Market
A Friday night tradition with local vendors, food, drinks, music, flowers, handmade goods, and that downtown summer energy people look forward to every year.

• North End City Market
A neighborhood market with fresh produce, baked goods, flowers, honey, handmade items, and a relaxed Saturday morning feel.

• Edgebrook Farmers Market
A great stop for fresh finds, local vendors, and a slower, easygoing market experience in one of Rockford’s favorite shopping areas.

• Northeast Rockford Farmers Market
A convenient neighborhood market that gives families another way to shop local and support growers, makers, and small businesses.

• Rockford Midtown Market
A community-centered market that brings local food, vendors, and neighborhood connection into the heart of Midtown.

• Forest City Farmers Market / Colonial Village
A longtime local market where fresh produce, community, and supporting local growers all come together.

These events are about more than food and shopping. They help small businesses grow. They give families affordable ways to spend time together. They create places where neighbors can connect, and visitors can experience what makes Rockford special.

This summer, grab a friend, bring the family, and explore what our local markets and food events have to offer. You might discover a new favorite meal, meet someone interesting, or simply enjoy a great evening in your own backyard.

Remember, it is a good day to go local.

Come see me today at the Dixon Farmers Market!

What's so great about my baked goods? Everything is FRESH. The rhubarb for today's cakes come from my own garden. Strawberries and raspberries were bought the day before I was going to use them.

Fresh lemon juice (not bottled), fresh lemon zest (not dried)...and everything is made from scratch.

Cakes: Rhubarb, Strawberry Rhubarb, and Strawberry.
Scones: Apple Cinnamon with a Simple Icing.
Bread: Cinnamon Sweet Bread.
Doughnuts: Chocolate Chip with a Chocolate Glaze, Raspberry, Chocolate, Apple Pie, and Lemon with a Lemon Glaze.

I will be at the Amboy Farmers Market by the Depot Museum from 8am until 12pm. I will have the following:

Chocolate Chip Doughnuts (single and double)
Chocolate Doughnuts (single and double)
Raspberry Doughnuts (single and double)
Cinnamon Sweet Bread (3 mini loaves)

If you need a pie, Joyce will be there and she should have other breads. Get there early because she sells out!

Martha should be there with her trinkets and key chains. I'm not sure who else might be there, but I will post again once we're all set up!

To be on the safe side, I have shut off my oven for the afternoon while these storms pass.

I currently have the following for the Northeast Rockford Farmers Market tomorrow:
Apple Cinnamon Scones
Chocolate Chip Doughnuts
Chocolate Doughnuts
Raspberry Doughnuts
Mini Cinnamon Sweet Bread

My plan after the storms pass is to make a few loaves of white bread (had a customer last week asked for it), a couple of loaves of Italian bread, oatmeal raisin cookies, and oatmeal butterscotch cookies.

I know Rockstar Doughnuts is just down from me at the Dixon Farmers Market, but stop by and get your breakfast in the morning on Saturday!

I'll have...
Lemon Doughnuts with a Lemon Glaze

Chocolate Doughnuts (just as they are... they taste like brownies in cake form!)

Apple Pie Doughnuts (spiced just right)

And a new flavor... Chocolate Chip Doughnuts with a Chocolate Glaze (vanilla doughnut, chocolate chips, chocolate glaze)

There will be other items of course, but I wanted to help you plan your breakfast this weekend.

The first two pictures (on the green table) have discounted baked goods since those were made Wednesday. Anything on the white table was made yesterday.
