Falling head over heels for this autumn wedding cake 🍂✨

Loved using an embossing technique to press delicate fall leaves right into the design. Cozy, crisp, and made for an unforgettable day. Congratulations to the newlyweds! 💍

"Til death. 🥀 Red velvet and cream cheese frosting done right." Congratulations to the bride and groom!

So excited to share this custom homecoming set I made for a very special friend’s son . For his boutonniere and his date's matching wrist corsage, I went with timeless white roses as the star of the show, then tucked in beautiful red accent roses for a pop of color. I finished everything off with a vibrant red ribbon and just the right touch of rhinestone sparkle to catch the lights!
Have the absolute best time at homecoming tonight! You two are going to look incredible! 🎉🕺💃

The TRUE Red Velvet Match 👑❤️✨

Move over cream cheese frosting, we are taking it back to the original tradition! For this Red Velvet Cake, I was asked to pair it with its authentic soulmate: classic ermine frosting. Long before cream cheese became the modern standard, Southern bakers matched the subtle cocoa notes of red velvet with this cooked flour buttercream (also called boiled milk frosting).

Why This Combination Wins: The perfect balance: Red velvet has a distinct tangy-yet-rich flavor profile. Because ermine frosting is incredibly light and not overly sweet, it lets the unique cocoa-buttermilk flavor shine through.

Pure vintage magic: Every bite tastes like a piece of baking history. If you've only ever had red velvet with cream cheese frosting, you are missing out on the ultimate retro cake experience!

Have you ever tried traditional ermine frosting? Let me know in the comments if you’re team Cream Cheese or team Ermine! 👇🍰
