A message from the President:
Hello Swim Families!
I am sending out this note to let you know our new timing equipment and scoreboard are installed. If you haven't been by the pool recently, I encourage you to stop in and take a look. A special thank you to Dan Porter and DYAI for the generous contribution to the Dolphins.
Long Course season is just on the horizon (June 1 start date), so hopefully those of you who plan to swim this summer are registered and ready to go! Coach Lexi has been working behind the scenes to get her vision for the future of the Dolphins clear and defined; some swimmers may be moving to different groups after evaluations (taking place the first 1-2 weeks of LC practice) in order to better align with her standards and expectations. All of this will be for the long-term health of the club, so please be patient through this time of transition, and as always, reach out with questions or concerns as soon as you have them.
As we kick off the Long Course season with our first practice on June 1, we are asking parents to attend a short meeting at 10 AM in the Lap Pool. This time will allow Coach Lexi to meet and connect with parents of Flippers through Senior Nationals to discuss groups, meets, DIBS, and answer questions. Parents of Pre-Minnows and Minnows you are not required to attend this meeting.
Information regarding DIBs requirements will go out to registered families soon, but our major summer volunteer opportunities include DDST Night at the Big Sticks game (June 7 @ 3:30) and Rodeo Volunteering at the Rough Rider events June 26, 27, and 28. Even if you are not swimming Long Course or you are a parent of a Pre-Minnow or Minnow, we encourage you to attend these events if you want to... you get free admission and get to support the Dolphins with some public relations and recruiting while having fun with your DDST family! Please put these dates on your calendars and attend if you are available... the more, the merrier!
Lastly, we are looking to hire new coaches, so if you or someone you know is interested, reach out to the club asap. We would love to see this club continue to grow and flourish, but we cannot do it without a strong and energetic staff working behind the scenes.
Happy Swimming!
