My mom was freed from Alzheimer’s disease 5 years ago today, but she will never be free from my love and missing her. I wish she was still here. I’d have much to tell her and to ask. Like what darn color should I paint the living room? She was great at that. Or whether my hair color is good. Do you think my lemon cake needs less lemon? All those little things I’d call her about. The grief gets lighter to carry most of the time, but it never leaves you. Miss you, mom.
