Okay y’all, I have been telling myself “I want to try sourdough” for probably over a year now. When I learned that through the process of fermentation, 90% + of the gluten dies, it really made me want to learn so I could bake all the carbs I love and miss 😂 But the mental hurdle with this was insane. My sweet husband bought me all the tools this year for my birthday and I finally decided to just do it. I knew failure would be inevitable and I hate failing so much. But that’s part of growth.

So after months of excuses, fears, and hesitations, I finally started. And here is my first loaf. She’s not perfect or fancy, but she represents the start to my sourdough journey, and because of that, she’s beautiful to me 🥹😍

I’m so excited to keep learning, growing, and yes, even failing, as I learn this art and enjoy another avenue for creating delicious foods 🤤

Hey friends! I’m sorry I’ve been so MAI all summer. This summer has been one of learning about food and sugar, and one might say I’m entering my crunchy era 😅 I have the biggest sweet tooth! But I have read more about refined sugars and how they affect our brains. Therefore, I’m trying to combine my love for baking with healthy alternatives that work with my body and nature, instead of against them.

So I’d like to introduce this beauty! 😍

Honey sweetened spiced carrot cake 🥕🍯

This rich cake is bursting with chia spices, sweet carrots, and hints of citrus. It’s soft and melts in your mouth! It’s topped with cream cheese frosting (sweetened with real maple syrup). It’s satisfying, and clean, which means you don’t have to feel guilty eating another piece 😉

I think every baker has something that intimidates them, and for me it’s yeast. I know that probably sounds so elementary and basic, but it’s just been my struggle for years. Add gluten free on top of that, and I’ve just avoided it all together because I’m honestly afraid of failure and wasting expensive ingredients. But, I’ve finally been facing my fears and embracing failure so I can learn and grow! And here is some of the fruit of that! These Cinnamon Rolls are sweet, sticky, gooey, and gluten free!
So here’s your encouragement to not let failure stop you and to face your fear!

If there is one thing I’ve learned from living in Michigan it’s that Michiganders loves their cherries!
Well, these cherry chocolate muffins are filled with cherries, dripping with chocolate, and bursting with flavor 🤤🍒🍫🍊and the secret to these is the hints of orange zest 😍
It’s nearly impossible to just have one 😜
And finally, the best part is that they are gluten free 🙏 but you’d never be able to tell 😉
