DM Ski/Bike Patrol provided emergency standby coverage for the 2026 Last One Standing endurance race this weekend. It's an incredible event, and this year's winner is Laurie Yliniemi from Detroit Lakes who ran 100 miles on DM singletrack mountain bike trails in 24 hours through constant rain and cold, on rocks and roots, up and down hills and through mud. Pattoller Stacy Baker ran several 4.2 mile laps as well! A huge thanks to those who volunteered from DMSP, especially the middle-of-the-night crew.

Congratulations to our seven newly certified members of DMSP. After several months of online study and skills and scenarios sessions in Outdoor Emergency Care with our instructors, all seven tested yesterday and passed the tests resulting in OEC certification. They completed over 100 hours of instruction, all on a volunteer basis. Welcome to the National Ski Patrol and the Detroit Mountain chapter. Also, a big thank you to the members who assisted with teaching, mentoring and testing yesterday.
