Speaking of loving Valentine’s Day. My 2 year old was born on Valentine’s Day. She’s an adorable little spitfire. We do a big cake for their parties and then a tiny cake for their actual birthdays at home. She was adamant that she wanted a pinkalicious party and a kitty cake at home.

Sometimes I do cakes just because I want to. This one was for book club. It was a cute little white chocolate cake with raspberry filling and vanilla Swiss merengue buttercream. It was an adorable cake for the Unwedding (I think that was the book).

Each year, we attend a number of events hosted by in the Des Moines area. The past few years, we’ve donated cookies for their wave of light event held at the capital in October. Last year we brought around 10 dozen chocolate chip cookies along with a few dozen frosted sugar cookies in memory of our Lavender.
