* Indonesian salad with a variety of different fresh and steamed vegetables swerved with sambal kacang (peanut sauce) *

2nd course | Satay Lilit
* Fresh fish combined with delicious aromatics cooked on lemon grass stalk, served with sides and nasi uduk *

3rd course | Black Sticky rice
* coconut milk cooked black sticky rice with fresh fruits, and a pandanus sauce *

As this great spring weather rolls through (and having received my covid vaccine) Bahasa Makan is reopening to public parties and will be coming out with monthly dinner demos starting in May. The first of these is a Mexican street food focused dinner demonstration on May 2nd that you wont want to miss, come on out and enjoy some delicious food.

Quick easy way to cut a onion in multiple ways, medium dice, small dice, and a medium julienne. Keeping the root bulb end intact keeps the onion together as you cut it. As well as helps to prevent any tearing up from the onion as the root bulb holds the potent tearing power of onions.

Another great dinner demonstration of a Indonesian 3 course meal.

1st course: martabak kacang which is a street food style involving a thin and crispy dough filled with cilantro, chicken in a peanut sauce marinade, green onions, fried shallots and sambal or spice paste to serve with.

2nd course: Satay ayam this chicken satay has been marinated in a super tasty and aromatic mixture of coconut, kaffir lime, turmeric, sambal, lemongrass, and other spices. Served with nasi kuning, kecap manis, nasi laur, and spiced tofu.

3rd course: Pisang goreng "fried bananas" these thai bananas have been coated in a sweet tempura batter and fried until a crunchy golden brown, served with fresh made vanilla bean ice cream, coconut pastry crumbles, dried coconut, and garnished with baby banana pods.
