It's HOT out there, so we're beating the heat the best way we know how — with ice-cold root beer floats and some friendly game-time fun! 🎲✨

Nothing says "chill with your friends" quite like a fizzy float in one hand and a winning hand of cards (or dice, or dominoes!) in the other. Our residents cooled off, laughed loud, and made the most of a scorching day together. 😎

Our residents traded their Monday blues for Monday hues, sipping and swirling their way through a morning of creativity, laughter, and friendship. From bold brushstrokes to happy little accidents, everyone brought their own flair to the canvas! 🖌️😄

☀️ THIS. WEEKEND. WAS. A. SCORCHER! 🥵

When the heat cranks up, our team springs into action! Our amazing Culinary and Activities teams teamed up to create a Mobile Hydration Station — rolling right through The Argyle to keep our residents cool, refreshed, and smiling. 💧

And who's behind the pitchers and popsicles? Our incredible nursing student volunteers from Regis University! These future nurses come from Regis's Loretto Heights School of Nursing — a program built on Jesuit values of service, compassion, and hands-on care. Almost every Saturday, they show up ready to hydrate, chat, and shower our residents with kindness. We are so blessed to have them as part of our Argyle family! 🩺💙

💦 A few tips to beat the heat this summer:
✅ Sip water throughout the day — don't wait until you're thirsty!
✅ Snack on water-rich foods like watermelon, cucumber, and oranges
✅ Wear light, breathable colors and a hat when heading outside
✅ Take breaks in the shade or A/C during peak afternoon heat
✅ Keep an eye on loved ones — dizziness or confusion can be early signs of dehydration

🧵✨ Crafting is fun — and crafting with buttons is very fun! Check out these talented residents and their beautiful creations!

Did you know buttons have been around for over 5,000 years? Ancient civilizations used them more as decorative seals than fasteners — the buttonhole wasn't even invented until the 13th century! And back in the day, buttons were often a sign of wealth, made from bone, ivory, or even precious metals and gems.

Our residents took that same spirit of creativity and turned simple buttons into stunning works of art. Come see for yourself what a little imagination (and a jar full of buttons) can do! 🎨🔘

Dominoes are a regular pastime around here, and it's easy to see why — it's fun, it's brain-stimulating, and it's a great excuse to sit down with friends and let the laughter (and a little friendly rivalry) flow!

Did you know dominoes have been played for centuries, and this simple game of tiles has some pretty impressive brain benefits? Studies show that playing dominoes helps improve memory, concentration, and problem-solving skills, keeping the mind sharp and active. It's also great for hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills, which can be especially helpful for those managing arthritis or dexterity challenges. And beyond the brain boost, dominoes are simply a wonderful way to connect — playing with friends helps combat isolation and builds a real sense of community.

So whether you're a dominoes pro or still learning the ropes, there's always a seat open at the table here!
