🌾 A Little Story From Behind the Counter 🌾
When we first dreamed up the idea of a country store, the plan was simple: give folks an easier way to get our farm‑raised beef, pork, chicken, lamb, and goat. That was it. Just a small, practical idea rooted in feeding our community a quality product.
But as we started building out the space, fresh paint on the walls, freezers humming, shelves waiting to be filled, we realized something. A store with only our meat wasn’t the whole picture. Not for us, and not for the moment we were living in.
Covid had shut down farmers markets. Home‑based makers had lost their outlets. Small businesses all around us were struggling to stay afloat. And in the middle of all that uncertainty, we felt God nudging us toward something bigger than our original plan.
So we opened our doors wide.
We started filling the store with as many local products as we could find, jams, breads, soaps, candles, honey, baked goods, and more. Every time we thought we’d reached the end of what we could offer, God introduced us to someone new. Someone talented. Someone trying to keep their dream alive.
Most stores take products on consignment, meaning the maker only gets paid if the item sells. But that didn’t sit right with us. If someone was willing to trust us with their hard work, we wanted to honor that trust. So, we decided to buy their products upfront. No risk for them. No fear of things expiring. Just support, plain and simple.
To this day, only two items in our store are on consignment and that’s only because the creators prefer it that way.
The truth is, we could never take on that kind of risk without the incredible support of customers like you. Every purchase you make doesn’t just help our family farm, it helps dozens of small businesses, home bakers, crafters, farmers, and dreamers who pour their hearts into what they create.
So when you walk through our doors, know this: you’re part of something bigger. You’re helping keep local dreams alive. God has blessed us and all the folks our store represents through this small country store dream and He has blessed us through each and every one of you.
