Happy Monday, friends! ☀️
On this beautiful morning, I’ve been reflecting on where I started, where I am today, and where I hope to go.
It feels like everywhere you look, new farm stands, homesteads, micro-bakeries, and sourdough businesses are popping up. And honestly? I love seeing people chase their dreams. 🙌🏼
At the same time, it can be easy to compare, compete, and wonder if you’re doing enough. That’s when I have to remind myself to stay in my lane, embrace what makes Kat’s Kitchen unique, and come back to my “why.”
Four years ago, I started Kat’s Kitchen because my family was in crisis. My husband’s health had taken a difficult turn, and I needed a way to help support our family while still being available as a caregiver, wife, and mom.
What began with homemade cake donuts quickly earned me the title of “the donut lady.” Before long, I became “the scone lady.” There was even a brief season as “the pie lady.” Along the way I’ve baked cookie cakes, cupcakes, custom cakes, brownies, biscuits, cookies, cake pops/popsicles, granola, biscotti and more.
Some products stuck. Some didn’t. Some were huge successes, and some taught me valuable lessons.
But through every market, every late night, every sold-out event, every slow event, every recipe test, every setback, and every small victory, I’ve kept showing up.
Because Kat’s Kitchen has never been just about baked goods.
It’s about taking care of my family, serving my community, and building something meaningful one batch at a time. ❤️
So now I’m curious…
Looking back over the years, what has been your favorite Kat’s Kitchen creation?
