I truly love being in the kitchen, creating new recipes and perfecting the ones that have become favorites. I will forever be grateful that you allow me to be a small part of your special moments whether it’s satisfying a sweet craving or bringing something special to a family gathering. I honestly didn’t expect such an incredible turnout for the very first Saturday Porch Bake Sale, and my heart is so full. Thank you for showing up, supporting my dream, and believing in Maria’s Bakery.

This Summer was missing one thing… ✨

My wish for you is a slice of this cake and a love as beautiful as the one I was blessed to share with my grandpa.

Lola’s Summer Kiss 🍊🍋

The freshest bite you’ll have all season.

I grew up next to this queen of a cake.
After a long day at school, I would open my grandma’s fridge and grab a slice of this perfection. I never understood why I loved it so much I was always the girl who chose chocolate over absolutely everything. But truthfully, I would choose a slice of this cake over any dessert.

It pairs beautifully with hot tea, iced tea, coffee, milk, or hot chocolate. Honestly, it seems to marry every drink perfectly.

It’s the perfect cake for family gatherings, slow summer afternoons, or a tea date with your favorite person. If you love light, fresh cakes, I truly believe this will become your new comfort cake. ✨

My grandma always called it Tarta de Naranja de Santiago, which is its original family name. Traditionally, it’s finished with a dusting of powdered sugar, but I wanted to honor her version the one I grew up with finished with our family’s lemon turrón glaze, a recipe that’s been passed down for generations.

So, in honor of my grandma, I’ve decided to give it a new name…
