Skillet cake
If you have blueberries around, this skillet cake is where it's at! Personally, I'm not usually very into sweets, so I made this cake with the least amount of sugar and it turned out so delicious. š«

Rosemary & Garlic Loaf - sourdough bread made with whole wheat and AP flour, with fresh rosemary and fresh garlic, plus olive oil

Lavender Tea Bread:
Lavender Tea Bread Ingredients:
3/4 cup milk
2 Tbsp. dried lavender flowers, finely chopped, or 3 Tbsp. fresh chopped flowers
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
6 Tbsp. butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
Bake at 350 for 35 to 40 minutes.
Icing is - confection sugar, dash of lemon zest, and water or milk

Hearty muffin recipe for perfect quick breakfast
What's a person to do when a carrot cake craving kicks in before the sun rises? Well, these muffins are a solution. Packed with whole wheat goodness, fruit, vegetables and pecans, they're an energetic start to the day.
After a major mishap - dumping half of the unbaked pie into the oven - I managed to salvage the project by making another batch of filling, and turning the extra into a loaf of pumpkin bread. Allās well that ends well!

English Muffins. I love how bread dough is so forgiving. Froze some leftover whole wheat dough, then left it on the counter to thaw, 2 days ago. Kept punching it down because I wasnāt ready! Then finally just decided to bake it on the stovetop. Voila!

Celebrating the day after Canada Day with a local food Sunday breakfast: Red Fife pancakes with artisan flour from K2 Milling, Murphy's Farm Market & Bakery strawberries, back yard rhubarb and 's Sugar Shack maple syrup from Lisle, Ontario. Divine!!!!
Very pleased with the results of my 100% Red Fife wheat bread. Amazing color & flavor thanks to artisan locally grown & milled wheat from K2 Milling Totally hooked.
Starting a batch of bread with this amazing artisanal flour that tastes sweet straight out of the bag. And look at the COLOR--gorgeous, subtle pink. My hopes are running high
My Butter Biscuits making the house smell like heaven
Fruit & Nut Bread -- this started as overnight oats that was left over. Oatmeal with honey and lots of dried fruit and nuts, yogurt and milk, cinnamon. There was about 1-1/2 cups left, so I brought to room temp, added yeast, flour, oil and salt.

Mini brownies with peanut butter swirl: these are a guaranteed hit.
I'm calling this lunch--Vegan Corn Muffins, spiked with whole kernel corn, garlic & onions, plus a little cayenne pepper, cumin and nutritional yeast. Egg substitute: aquafaba! My first experiment with it. instead of 2 eggs-- 6 tablespoons of the water drained from a can of garbanzo beans. Amazingly, the texture mimics eggs. This was for one bag of Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Cornbread Mix. Sub'd unsweetened soy milk for the dairy. So, vegan AND Gluten free.
Savory baked things make for an easy dinner--add a tossed salad & maybe a glass of wine and that's it!

I saved a bit of dough from the Angel Biscuits I made on New Year's Day, and put it in the freezer. All I did today was let it thaw and rise, then baked off the biscuits. Dough is so easy like that! Yummy warm biscuits - mmmm!

Polish koÅaczki are flaky little pastries popular for the holidays. These cookies are filled with fruit, cheese, nut or poppy seed pastes.
Biscuits don't have to be round, and if you're in a hurry, just cutting the dough like this is quick and there's less waste. I simply patted these out - no rolling. Also, they're mostly whole wheat flour, so not as light but substantial and flavorful
Definitely going to try this, but won't use Duncan Hines cake mix. I will try substituting an organic cake mix, such as Immaculate Baking Co. or Dr. Oeteker's.
Is it Fall yet? Apple Crumble with homemade Cinnamon Ice Cream makes me think it is, even though the days are still hot.
