Hey y'all! It is with a very heavy heart that I send this message, but also one filled with excitiment.⁠

I have made the difficult decision to close Lord of the Pies (for now!). I have accepted a new job that will require me to move to North Carolina, so I will not be able to continue baking full time. Once I'm settled in my new job and apartment, I will have some news on what Lord of the Pies will turn into.⁠

It has been such a joy and honor to meet, serve, and connect with so many people through this humble little business of mine.⁠
⁠
All outstanding, fully paid orders will be completed as normal. No new orders can be placed at this time. ⁠
⁠
Thank you all for your support over the last 3 years, and I hope you keep watch of what is coming next.

For our final week, we are celebrating Sallie Ann Robinson (1958-), the queen of Gullah and Daufuskie Island cuisine. Robinson shares her culture through cooking classes, interviews, and even a guided tour of Daufuskie Island. This week we are celebrating THE queen of Southern, farm-to-table cusine, Ms. Edna Lewis (1916-2006). She published 4 cookbooks, and her famous Lemon Chess recipe was included in them. Find it on our blog, bake it, then compare it to ours. Happy Black History Month! ⁠ ⁠

This week, we are celebrating Natha Adkins Parker (1923-2015), a domestic who spent many years working as a cook in restaurants and cafes. Her son published her recipes in 1997, including her Sweet Potato pie recipe. Check out our blog to find her recipe, try ours, and let us know what you think! ⁠

Happy Black History Month! To celebrate Black History Month, we are higlighting the that can be found in the history of pie. Each week, we will feature a different Black woman cook/chef, and her pie recipe. Our verison of these pies will be available online and at our markets for the month. Read more about each woman on our blog, bake her pie, then try ours. Tell us what you learned, tasted, and felt during the month. This week, we celebrate Mrs. Fisher, a slave cook and one of the first to ever write her recipes down. Make her Coconut pie, then come and try ours.⁠ ⁠

New year means new pies! Introducing the new 6-in Demi Pie! Each demi pie serves 4-6 people and are best for brunches, picnics or small getherings. Great to mix and match! The demi is available on our site in packs of 2, or individually at our markets. Give them a try and let us know what you think!
