I love June... 🥰 Not only is it my Birth Month 😋🤙

But it's also Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈💕

Pride is a celebration, but also a reminder that our core values of freedom, equality, and respect for diversity haven't always applied to all -

In the early 20th Century, LGBTQ+ individuals were criminalized, with laws prohibiting same-sex relationships, cross-dressing, and other expressions of non-heteronormative behavior.

They were subject to intense discrimination, legal persecution, and social ostracism, leaving few spaces for them to truly be themselves.

The Stonewall Riots of 1969 is said to have been a turning point, what Pride is said to commemorate. Since then, we've certainly come a long way, but let's just say the story is not over...

We're proud allies of our LGBTQ+ friends, neighbors and family. You are seen, you are loved, and everything about that is beautiful. 🫶

Sara has joined us again for the Summer - sharing the workload with Ian and taking on some of Adam's tasks...

Heck, yesterday she was even traying up bacon for Heather! 🥓🤘🤙

Short of having ZERO extra space (or oven time) in back... 🙃😅

It's been really great having her around! Picking up cookies, brownies, bars, sweets, has allowed Ian time to focus on breads, learning Adam's croissant, etc.

Their combined energy is so exciting, watching them not only keep up (while maintaining quality👌), but also have time to think of and create new items for you!

Ladies - if you've never thought twice about leaving the house wearing pants, then today's a day for you...

On this day in 1431, Joan of Arc was charged with heresy by donning male clothing (military attire), convicted, and well... 😬😅

Fast forward to 1923 - also on this day, the US Attorney General declared it was legal for women to wear trousers everywhere.

While there was no federal law banning women from wearing pants, at least 70 US cities had ordinances against it. 👖

Even after this, most laws took decades to be replaced, and/or they were either repealed or rendered unenforceable under the Equal Rights Amendment (almost 50 years later, in 1972).

Personally, I like the versatility of pants while I work, but once I'm home, I'm cozier in a dress ... 🤗

Though, in honor of today, I think I'll wear pants instead. 😋🤙

Happy Wednesday! ☀️

We've again been asked to produce popular items more typically found in other (International) food markets!

Last year, we did Korean Cream Cheese Garlic Buns - and then kept making them randomly throughout the year... 🤤🤘

This year - we were tasked with TWO items -

If you stopped in yesterday, hopefully you were able to try a sample of the Pay de Queso! Translates as "Cheese Pie," but really, it's a beautiful mix between Flan and Cheesecake (or a Mexican-style Cheesecake), made with a special Maria Cookie crust! 🧀👌

Yemeni Honeycomb Bread (Khaliat Nahal) - soft buns filled with Cream Cheese, are baked closely together in a round pan (making a beehive), then coated with Honeyed Orange Blossom / Rose Water Syrup. 🍯🍊🌹

Such a uniquely AMAZING flavor - stop by today, and you MAY get to try one... 😅😋

Otherwise, now that these are going out... I do believe Adam hopes to make a few more of these (in smaller versions) for you all to purchase, devour, absolutely become obsessed with, at the Shop as well. 😉😉🤙

Today it appears I'm getting what I've been asking for...

Apologies to those who melt, but I'm pretty excited about today's high! 😎

Being hypothyroid (aka it doesn't work 🤨), I am extremely cold sensitive. Lower temps exacerbate pain; alternatively, it takes a lot for me to overheat! 😅

Even when we travel to our favorite island 🇵🇷, my carry-on's stuffed with a heated blanket (Adam holds the plane snacks). ✈💺🤘😆

But okay for those like my poor Lumberjack of a man, Adam, I give you my sympathies...

Take comfort in knowing this is Wisconsin, we only get 2-3 days like this every year. If necessary, drive somewhere and find a lake. 😋
