On January 28, 2026, detectives with the Dayton Police Department’s Cold Case Unit arrested a 36-year-old man in connection with the 2004 murder of Lillie Oglesby.

Investigators continued to work this case over the years and recently resubmitted evidence for additional analysis, which led to the identification and arrest of the suspect.

This arrest reflects the Cold Case Unit’s commitment to pursuing justice for victims and their families by exhausting every available investigative tool and option, no matter how much time has passed.

The suspect is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail.
