More local Flock/ALPR news.

City staff were recently made aware that a Flock Camera was reinstalled within the community. We would like to provide residents with additional information regarding the situation.

On September 17, 2026, the Police Department was made aware of a maintenance work order produced by Flock. The City notified Flock on September 18, 2026, that the program was on hold, and no work orders were to be completed. Unfortunately, the City’s direction was not followed, and the camera was placed back into service without authorization.

Following the report, City staff reviewed locations throughout the community to determine whether any additional cameras had been reinstalled, and one additional location was identified. The Police Department has been notified, and both cameras will be removed promptly.

I was trying to hold out, but the weather forecast is not improving. We are supposed to get the heaviest rain between 2-6pm. Not liking Mother Nature's humor right now.
I am going to need to cancel again.
I'm going to start manifesting sunshine for next week, or at the very least dry and cloudy.
Let me know if you would like to pick-up any of the items that were on the menu today.

Earlier this year, I pulled Just Dough It out of the Champlin farmers market after the city chose to feature the Freedom 250 truck there. It told me something about how decisions were being made there, and who they were being made for.
Since then, I've watched Jason Schaal push for real transparency on Champlin's FLOCK license plate reader cameras — asking who has access to the data, what it costs taxpayers, and calling for a public information session before any cameras are replaced or the program expands. I've done this same kind of records work in Dayton, digging into our own city's ALPR contract, so I recognize what it looks like when someone is actually asking the right questions instead of taking a vendor's word for it.
That's the kind of leadership I want to see: transparent, accountable, and willing to listen to the community before making decisions — not after.
I'm endorsing Jason Schaal for Champlin Mayor.

Tomorrow's menu will be:

Blueberry Sourdough Bagels.
There is rain in the forecast, but sounds like not likely. Even if it does rain is supposed to he after 4:30. So I am shooting for being out from 2-4pm tomorrow. If it doesn't look like it's going to rain, I will stay out until 6pm.
