A simple but elegant wallet using French Vachetta leather, a single stitch line, and black edge paint.

For this design, the challenge was to hide the support structure without using an inner lining, add strength to high stress areas, and maintain its repairability.

To celebrate the holiday season, I will be shipping a special gift to all my previous Legacy clients.

Beginning this November and continuing each Christmas season after, I am releasing a limited edition leather ornament. Each year’s ornament will be a different seasonal design and made using various exotic leathers that are usually reserved for my Legacy clients.

These ornaments will be a free gift to my Legacy clients, but offered for sale to others on my website.

I’ll have more information and pictures next month, so do all the social media stuff to stay up-to-date.

Sometimes accidents happen that can’t be fixed. I was almost finished with a simple bi-fold wallet made with expensive goat. It was a retirement gift for 20 years in the Air Force and 20 years as a civilian government employee. However, I realized too late that I had trimmed sections just a fraction too small. There was nothing I could do - so I modified it. It’s not what I wanted, but sometimes I have to remind myself that pieces aren’t meant for me, even if they’re a gift.

With the right leather, even a basic wallet design is elevated high above all others. The dark brown color lends itself to tradition, but the hatch exterior adds the perfect balance of character and style.

Forgot this one from a while back. Lavender chèvre with blue snake. The layout and pocket shape is pretty standard, but the colors are definitely unique!

It looks like a simple card holder. But its inner structure, reinforcements, and assembly techniques are integral to its durability and repairability long into the future. Vachetta leather ages beautifully, and it should last long enough for you to see it… and beyond.

I took inspiration from wingtip shoes of the early 20th century - with a scalloped edge pocket on the front and hand-broguing on the back - to create a wallet that holds a small brush and a couple cards. The leather is called “pull-up,” and the color changes as you apply pressure. This particular color is natural, but also comes in 17 other colors! For thread, I used navy blue, green, and plum, but there are much more options to choose! Maybe I’ll add it to the site 😉
