It has taken me eight weeks to compose this post, but it had to be done. I have been laid low by an astonishing series of events starting with cardiac procedures, a broken leg, and a horrid kitchen accident which left me with serious burns. I will spare you the details, and instead say that I am so lucky to have a great family and friends to help me! I am getting stronger and my feisty personality is intact, although at times more subdued.
You have all been so supportive and enthusiastic about my products, and it saddens me to admit that this holiday season will not be the same. I will not be reopening my on line store in time for Christmas, and will not be taking Christmas pick up orders. I will, however, be working soon to keep shortbread on the shelves at the Davison Home Bakery starting this week.
It is my hope that we will begin to resume some production in 2021.
I would like to thank my husband, Frank, for his constant care of me, my daughter, Kimberly, for her trips from Indy to bouy my spirits, the help from my friend Julie to keep me organized, and my neighbors, Roxanne, JoAnn, and Tami for literally toting groceries and delivering necessities.
Wish me luck as I continue to recover!

Stop by the Port Sanilac Historical Village and visit the General Store for a nice selection of Snazzy Face Masks! I love this one because it has adjustable ear straps!
If you come on Friday afternoon you can shop at the Port Sanilac Farmers' Market for healthy and yummy treats.

I'm sorry to announce that I will not be vending at the Port Sanilac Farmers' Market until further notice. My shortbread will still be available locally at ReeMarkables in Port Sanilac and Country Style Marketplace in Fort Gratiot.
Thank you to all my customers for wearing your masks and allowing us to keep each other safe! I encourage you to shop the other fine bakers for yummy treats.
The Cookie Ladies have simply fantastic baking skills and I cannot resist them!
Speaker Orchards make the yummiest pies.
Faithful Winds always have tasty treats and amazing chocolate pretzels.
Esther makes traditional cookies and breads.
Also check out our new vendor, The Cookie Shed; they have a lovely selection of sweets.

I hope that after some R&R I may be able to return in the fall. As they say, "WATCH THIS SPACE!"

Join us on Friday, July 3, from 2-4pm, on our beautiful grounds outside the General Store, for some great, free, live music!

Wildcat Road will be playing the old-time music you love from Doc Watson, Hank Williams, Norman Blake, Jimmy Rogers, and the Carter Family. Plus some contemporary favorites like Mellencamp, Dylan, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

All social distancing protocols will be observed. Bring a lawn chair and set up a minimum of six feet from others. Masks are optional.

Get your history on with a visit to the General Store. Check out the gorgeous, antique, wooden post office boxes, the ornate cash register, and our huge coffee mill. Cold drinks, snacks, and unique gift items are available for purchase. Don't forget to ask about the "Sale of the Week"!

Be sure to also browse the Port Sanilac Farmers' Market from 2-6pm for baked goods, vegetables, fruit, freshly baked pies, eggs, and craft items.

Don't miss out. It's going to be a great afternoon and a wonderful kick-off to the holiday weekend!

**Port Sanilac Farmers' Market**
Scotty Dotty Shortbread Company will be joining you this Friday, June 26 with a limited supply of your favorites.
I expect to have Shortbread in all three flavors, several varieties of Scones, Heath Toffee Brownies, and Breakfast Bread.
I do not have enough help to make large quantities, and samples are not allowed at this time, but I hope to get there soon. I cant wait to see familiar faces behind those masks!

Hello friends! I saved this cherry scone for a cool afternoon like today, and it didnt disappoint. Scones freeze beautifully for when you need a little treat.
I am missing you all as I look at the cancelled shows and gatherings ahead, but i am happy to do my part and stay home to protect our hospital workers and families across our great state. Frank and I have mourned the death of friends, acquaintances, and work mates from afar, but we have also celebrated the recovery of a few close calls! What a joy to see their return to health.
It is my hope, of course, to see each of you in the not-so-distant future. Stay safe and, until I can bake for you again, dream of my goodies and all that Michigan butter.

Last night's ceildh hosted by The Flint Scottish Pipe Band was a smash! We loved the return of Roan Band, all the visiting pipe bands, the dancers, and all our fans of Scotty Dotty baked goods. So many friends returned to get their favorites before we ran out.
At the end of the night Frank and I shared the last three scones with tea before we collapsed with the sound of the pipes in our heads.

This Friday night we open our booth at the Michigan Irish Music Festival in Muskegon Michigan! It is a HUGE festival so worthy of the hype. Dance, sing, drink, eat, shop and visit!
It takes a skilled staff to bake and sell at this level. Not only are they professional and dedicated, they are great people who are great fun to work with.
