This morning, a storm quickly passed through Circle K Farm. While brief, it did blow out a window in the milk house, which is attached to the barn. Yes, many decades ago, the farm had a dairy. The little milk house was where the big, metal milk cans, filled with fresh milk, were put in the water cooler until Horace, our milk man, stopped to pick up the cans of cooled milk later in the mornings. Later meaning between 7-8 am!
We are so grateful to know Nick, who was able to make the window repair yet today. Nick does a great job! He's truly a craftsman and such a nice man, too.

We tried one raised bed at Grandma's House this summer. With this tiny addition, smiling flowers now join the morning sunshine to greet our guests from the kitchen window at the beginning of each summer day.

Wrapping up another July in Iowa at Circle K Farm. It's where the tall corn grows head and shoulders above our also tall son/grandson.

Room Spotlight: Blooming Meadows 🌸

Another room at Grandma’s House…

This room is inspired by the idea of blooming — like wildflowers in a meadow with the right light and care.

Just as flowers bloom in nature, we believe people do too — through creativity, connection, and time spent together.

The name also holds special meaning, honoring Grandma Marjorie Wiese Kuehl — with “Wiese” meaning meadow.

Here at the farmhouse, it’s our hope that time spent here allows your creativity, your friendships, and your memories to bloom.
