The owners of Bakery on a Hill have found a location for their new company Creations Baking Company

Breaking News!!!
We officially have a location! We are projecting opening day to be Thursday, March 19! It's drab and not cute right now, but it is about to become bright, fun, very inviting and a sea of pink, black & white. It is located in Midlothian a couple blocks off the square at 412 W Ave F. We have some exciting things planned for opening day that we will let you know about when it gets closer!
We will be a dessert bakery offering cupcakes, cookies, dessert cakes, decorated cakes and a couple of weekly desserts that will range from Sticky buns to tiramisu!

Three final things.
1. Dick's Uptown Cafe bought our salad bar and will have a salad bar that you should all go try very soon!!
2. Make sure you have "liked" our new page Creations Baking Company, we will officially be operational in February but we might do a flash sale in January so watch for it!
3. Finally, thank you so much for being part of our lives! There have been so many tears and hugs that have made us feel so loved.

Today is our final day of business. Since announcing our closing we have seen more tears and heard more cussing (wasn't directed at us) than we have in the 16 prior years combined. Loyal customers have given hugs and told us we'll be missed. We feel very blessed and hope to see everyone today a final time. We are open 6am-4pm. Like our new page to keep up with us in February Creations Baking Company.

We will be open Monday 12/22 & Tuesday 12/23 9:00am-10:00pm, Wednesday 12/24 6:00am-4:00pm. We will accepting very limited orders, but we will bake as many extra goodies as humanly possible. Please stop in and see all of the Christmas baked goods to choose from. Have a Merry Christmas!!

To be fair, I wanted to let you know that I was contacted by the new mall management company today. They offered me a renewal on my lease and apologized for not offering it sooner. I could not accept the terms of the lease so we will still be closing on Christmas Eve. They were very unhappy with the bad publicity that they are receiving. I want to make it clear that even though I am not going to be a part of the mall anymore I do still want the mall to be successful. I have lived in Cedar Hill for over 25 years and I only want the best for the town. Although I personally disagree with things that are going on, it does not benefit anyone for a shopping center to be empty. They are confident that they can fill the mall and that will be beneficial to the area even if the small independent businesses are not part of it. We are excited to start a new adventure.

We have owned a bakery in Cedar Hill for 16 1/2 years and have grown to know so many people. We would like to thank all of our loyal customers that have been a part of our lives through the years. We have been a part of your lives through high school grads, then college, marriage, children's births and birthdays. It has been quite an experience. We have tried to make your events special. But, our lease expires at the end of the year and we have not been offered a renewal. We are not totally surprised by this. We have watched other small businesses leave. The mall is anxious to bring in large companies that will be good for the town. We have been forced to make the decision to close our doors on Christmas Eve at 4pm for ever. Although we are sad in many ways we are looking forward to how God will use us in the coming years. We have worked long hours 6 days a week for 16 years and are now going to take the month of January off to recuperate. We are planning on opening a Cottage Bakery in February where a variety of baked goods will be available for order and delivery until we can find a new location. Please like our new, still undeveloped, page Creations Baking Company to be kept aware of updates. We are sad for our crew members that will be losing their jobs on Christmas Eve. They were so gracious when we told them. It has been a pleasure to get to know each of them. We are still open 9 more business days to fulfill your Bakery on a Hill needs!
