🖤 Imporant Update: Please Read 🖤
I wanted to take a moment to give you an update on the future of Short & Sweet. As most of you know from visiting the shop and speaking with me over the course of the last year, we’ve decided to close our storefront in Kingston in October. Our last day open will be
Sunday, October 27th.
After having our little girl last year it has become increasingly more difficult to manage family life as a small business owner, while also having a full-time job. Juggling the rising cost of ingredients, no-shows for orders and to put it kindly, not always the nicest of people, has weighed heavily on me over the last few years and it’s the perfect time to reset and focus on what matters most - my family.
With that said, Short & Sweet will be moving back to our home commercial kitchen in Dallas focusing on custom orders, holiday pre-sales and fairs/markets. If you have been around since the beginning, this is where we began and how we came to meet most of our regular customers.
This is a bittersweet update to share with you all since we’ve put so much into our building on Wyoming Ave. bringing it back to life from the many businesses that previously occupied the space before us. It will be difficult to let our hard work go, but the space no longer suits us.
If you have an order placed with us already and received confirmation of that order, please note - nothing will change. We will continue to operate out of our Kingston building through November as we get our home kitchen set back up for operations. I will be reaching out to each of you to coordinate pick-up times or offer local delivery where feasible.
At this time, we are currently booked for all orders through the end of the year and will be closing down the order form until further notice. Once we feel ready to begin accepting custom orders again, we will update you all. I want to acknowledge that I appreciate every single one of your who has supported me over the last 5 years.
It means the world that you’ve trusted me to be a part of the very special moments in you and your loved ones’ lives. To our regulars who visit us each weekend, I am so grateful to have been a part of your routine and to have gotten to know you and your families. Some of you are now my closest friends and that is something I’ll forever be grateful for.
I will be skipping our Thanksgiving Pre-Sale to get some quality time in with my family, but will be back before you know it. If you’re in the area over the next handful of weekends, please stop in and see us one last time.
Love,
Kaitlyn
