Salty Hen Feed Company Cooking recipes from 3 generations is my dream. From Entrée and sides to cakes, pies and handmade candies. Just try a bite.

I was born and raised in the south..... not only is that a slower and different way of life, we spent much of our time, with family cooking, canning and learning from the generations before us! Raised by a true southern Nanny, Sallie Lee Brown and Grandmother's Vera and Dollie, cooking was an art! A simple sandwich was a photo op and we had tea at 3! I have decided to share our secret family traditions with you, just not in written form!

Salty Hen is so very sad today. 💔

Our dear friend Carol Lancaster has passed away, and our hearts are heavy.

A few months ago, Carol stopped in to see us with her sweet friend Sybil while she was working her way through her bucket list. Knowing that a visit to Salty Hen Feed Company was something she wanted to do meant more to us than she probably ever knew.

Carol was such a big supporter and fan of Salty Hen, and we were certainly fans of hers too. ❤️ There are some people who walk through your door as customers and somehow leave as friends. Carol was one of those people.

We are so thankful she made that trip, thankful for the visit, the smiles, the conversation, and most of all, thankful that Salty Hen got to be one little stop along her journey.

Life is precious, friends. Take the trip. Eat the pie. Hug your people. Tell them you love them. And don’t put off the things your heart keeps telling you to do.

Rest easy, sweet Carol. 🕊️ You will be remembered fondly by your Salty Hen family, and we are sending all our love and prayers to Sybil, Carol’s family, and everyone who loved her.

Once a Salty Hen friend, always a Salty Hen friend. ❤️

Today I was reminded just how blessed and honored I am to do what I do.

To be trusted to prepare food for a special gathering, to represent Salty Hen Feed Company, and to serve people in our community is something I never take for granted.

Every order, every event, and every opportunity means more to me than people probably realize. I put my heart into this little business, and I’m deeply thankful for every door that has opened along the way.

At the end of the day, I’ll always choose gratitude, grace, and letting my work speak for itself.

Thank you for allowing Salty Hen Feed Company to be a small part of your day. It truly was an honor. ❤️
